Back to Common Grounds.

Apparently, it's against protocol for Gadritan to solicit applications for the culture ministry in Celest, which led him to open a referendum to select the next minister without providing any supporting material whatsoever. I feel like I have pretty good reading comprehension and reasoning skills, but I'm going to have to say I didn't really understand the reasons behind that---even when pointed to the relevent CLHELPs.

speaking from experience mudbot's editor is a big no no for any form of editing. It replaces all ' and other special coding characters with ?.

Nexus is your friend for editing, or just remember to turn off command stacking in mush.

Er, I've been using Mudbot for years and have never had that happen. In fact Mudbot was how I originally stopped those special coding characters from screwing up my designs and files.

Really, things like that need to be individually coded in - it's not something we can fix easily. Can certainly bug it and we can certainly see how feasible it is to fix it, but I'd be lying if I said it'd be anywhere near 'the list', nonetheless at the top of it. *cough* It'd be in the jar of ink at least.

No worries, I think this is just a particular case of me(and possibly Lendren) being OCD control freaks. If I had my way, some of the monk guilds would be named differently. geek.gif

I used to like Nexus, but lately I've preferred using notepad and then copy-pasting straight into the game.

Speaking of monks and things that are bothersome, why do Ulan and Maccan in Tosha have nearly identical descriptions? suspicious.gif

Ulan
QUOTE
Frail and covered in untidy brown hair, Ulan stands tall in his green robes, despite the curvature of his spine. Lost in deep contemplation, his eyes are filled with sorrow in a manner that makes him unaware of his surroundings. Shaggy and caked in dirt, his fur has not been cleaned in some time.

Maccan

Frail and covered in long dark brown hair, Maccan stands tall, despite the curvature of his spine. A deep contemplation is apparent in his face and his sorrow filled eyes seem to be unaware of that which is about him. Shaggy and caked in dirt, his fur has evidently not been cleaned in many years.

Earliest areas have fairly generic/same-y roomdescs, simply as a means of getting to launch as soon as possible. If an area is REALLY bad and breaks the rules, the admin sometimes go back over it and order a rewrite, though I doubt that's ever occurred in Lusternia's history.
Casilu2010-08-13 22:07:05
Elostian and I thought the same thing. The dirt is not coming off.
Elostian2010-08-13 23:11:29
What dirt? *eye shoes*
Furien2010-08-13 23:23:52
It's a really slow day in Lusternia today. Wonder where everyone went?

The metaphorical dirt that you feel but does not exist and never comes off no matter how hard you try. sad.gif

Just came back to the computer to relax after a long day and evening, only to find that Aubrey's trade has gone from 'challenging' to 'completely censor.gif worthless'. Now need to leave the computer again to calm down so I can sleep. dry.gif

EDIT: Note, I am not even upset about the 'trade' aspect of it since tailoring is definitely not a lucrative trade to begin with. What this will affect is her stocking things for her guild. And because I had paid credits to someone who made an awesome system for comm pricing, which he will now have to fix, and I had gotten halfway through indexing the entire censor.gif list of tailored items, including their costs. banghead.gif

i dont mean to be rude, admin, but . . . . why? Are you trying to make things more expensive so people have to bvy credits to buy things, or what?

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion right away, though it does cause issue for some concerns. Especially with so many villages under the influence of one org. Would be funny if Glomdoring had to switch back to commerce governance again just to support the commodity needs of the game.
Unknown2010-08-14 04:37:43
It's not commercial?
Eventru2010-08-14 04:54:36
Changes were made because the old system was painfully obsolete and was causing a lot of problems adding in new villages (Rikenfriez comes to mind!). Also, the sell/buy functions were completely bonkers (prices rarely went up when buying, only down when comm questing - or visa-versa. Can't remember which it was off-hand). It wasn't made to make comms 'less available' or such - as you can see, the floor on comm prices has dropped dramatically! I'm sure they'll play with it a bit to get things 'just right'.

(It's not my project, so you'd really need to prod Estarra for anything more than that!)

We found out that tithes maxed out at 200, whereas in the old system you could get no limit on tithe size. Given how far apart tithes were, it was inefficient if we put ourselves to it, and I guess the Court just decided Conquest was better. So we switched back. And then this happened.
