Back to Common Grounds.

If Gleip cannot do it all himself, he can get a Seren to help him. Seren do help other Serens complete the quests. We just don't like non-Serens poking around too much. rolleyes.gif

If Serenwilde really has the attitude that it is "unneccessary" to help commune members acquire their epic honour, it's no wonder that they struggle.

Probably a holdover from the days when anything that could benefit the masses was locked up tight with the elite. I'm willing to bet 75% of Serenwilde has no idea how to do any part of the Epic quest.
Kiradawea2010-08-30 16:59:56
He can't. At least, not according to what he's told me. Could be he's lying but eh.

I think a lot of it has to do with the idea that you're supposed to figure out quests yourself, which I can understand, but which I also don't agree with since so many quests are not really something that can be "figured out" so much as "found out" by massive quantities of trial and error.

But it wasn't very long ago that it was IRE-wide policy that you don't tell people how to do quests, period. It's no surprise some people are still thinking that way.
Shaddus2010-08-30 18:37:02
It's also that people think that the more people who have their epic item, the "cheaper" it is. It's not as awesome if it's easy to get and everyone has one.

Not only that, but epic quests tend to be especially ridiculous. You can count the number of people who figured out nai'dorin on their own on one hand - everyone else had to have hours of effort put into walking them through it, explaining WHEN to do this and what NOT to do ever, and even then, it's still possible to screw it up because there are so many variables involved, and one mistake can force you to have to wait for the next new moon.

Yeah. I remember trying to "figure out" this quest. Three distinct mini-quests, none which have any obvious connection beyond the end result of one mentioning the end result of the other. And even if you complete all three mini-quests, you better remember an easily over-looked detail of a sentence at the beginning of the first mini-quest.

I can't stand this sentiment. When you think about it, trying to keep hidden information that you were given freely just makes their accomplishment so much more valuable than yours when they eventually get it.

Yeah, yeah! Somebody tell me how to get apples in Clarramore. smile.gif

You have to make fertiliser! Hope you like picking up bird poo.

EDIT: Imagining Daraius voluntarily picking up the piles of guano in Clarramore made me giggle. tongue.gif

Guano!! Do the same thing you do to get lemons, then give lots of guano to the plant guy, then use the fertilizer like you would the fungicide.

This might be part of the problem, but I think the other is that so many people seem to expect you to do most of the work for them, then just hand over the final component so they can get their line. I've run into this before, and have not liked it, and can understand how people who run into it enough might just decide to tune-out everyone after a spell.

Aww crap. dry.gif

Thanks guys.

Poo on you, it's more fun to think about a guano farmer then you tryin to start censor.gif with the ladies.

I've been told a few times to try to do the epic quest, but all I know about it is that it's a quest that has a lot of quests in it.
Lendren2010-08-30 20:39:48
That's like the problem with quests in a nutshell: you don't even have an objective to start from, so you have no clues offered about where to start or where to end. And it turns out half the quests you've already done are part of it, but doing them offers you no reason to believe they're part of something larger. So you can't even start from the middle, either. There's really no "solving the puzzle", there's just being tenacious enough to stick random things against other random things until something sticks, and repeating. Why that's a badge of pride is a real mystery to me.

Punny guy.

As is typical, the final two objects I need are gone, and none have a clue where they are. At least, they're not sharing it.
