As a long time GA my one complaint about mechanics is that I can't touch guild credits. I can see them but I can't touch them and I consider it pretty lame. Everything else can be overcome more or less. I'm also of two minds with how other powers are split. A GM and GA can either be equals within the guild and city or else they can split it and a GM can have more city power and a GA can have more guild power. How Serenwilde actually does it I couldn't comment on.

Separate Tweet from the main discussion: Where did the happy medium go? Oh, why is it so hard to find? It seems everything is very far one way or very far the other now.
The game grew substantially in hate just around the point that Glomdoring started to roll over other organizations. At least, that's when I noticed it. I mean, you've always had people hating on various individuals, but there was this sudden surge in complete and utter bitterness. It went from 'That dude's an idiot.' being spouted every now and then to 'That dude's an idiot.' being stated as a snide remark in every post. All very interesting, really. HRM YES FNAH.

As far as Glom goes, the Swarm doesn't really make distinctions about leaders, it's fairly clear who does the leading during any foray. Plus I made sweet clan positions that outline it!
The gaudi combat clan is the same way. You are either a leader or not and you don't have to be a guild leader to be a combat clan leader. Though guild Champions are given the position by default, because well.. it's kind of expected that they lead in combat matters (though I haven't seen one in Gaudi do it yet)

Maybe. But I was actually thinking from a mechanical perspective, too.

I am alone in the middle as far as I know.
Let's just all get along.

Now you've got me thinking of Passion Fruit, and it's trying to replace my current Root Beer addiction.
Love others, and love yourself.

I think I am going to spend some time away from Lusternia.

Being asked an honest opinion, told it essentially doesn't matter, then being told I'm horrible for telling someone they were childish for wishing ill on others when they say they don't wish ill on others. This from my mentor. I just...Is there just something inherantly wrong in me that I seem to instigate these kind of feelings? What did I do? :/

I thought someone had tinkered around and proved it? If not, I retract that statement.
It is the truth. GM is GR20, GA is GR21, GC is GR22. The bugs that revealed the underlying structure have been fixed (like GCs being able to spy on GMs, but GMs being blocked because their GR was too low), but if you watch closely, you can still see it happen with guildfavours when the GR19s step in to help.

I still don't think Sadie is as bad as you guys figure she is. And I'm still baffled as to why GAs need a special SEG position or that anyone should act offended when they don't.

Sadie's always been nice to me, and I don't see how anyone in the wilde could starve when she's around.

You've obviously never met Gleip.

All this sniping is terribly unattractive, so I have deleted it all.

Bashing as a researcher is painful. Even with strong skull and crocodile spheres, I can't bash things at level 78 that I used to bash at level 65 as a warrior. Even druids are more rugged than this. (And not being able to use up charged gems for bashing isn't helping either.)
Ileein2010-09-03 02:39:10
You can use up charged gems for bashing. Seriously, knock yourself out.
I was trying to keep people from deffing up with every single gem when they didn't need them all, not keep them from using gems when they do need them.

Sometimes constructive criticism is still criticism. Don't ask for my opinion on a design and then get upset when I say that there's plenty of room for improvement.

Glomdoring has too much of a negative stigma for me, and didn't seem that novice friendly (by which I mean Serenwilde seems less likely to kill me, for any reason (pretty sure it's against commune rules))
Need a new, darker commune!
Icewynderkel, perhaps? though I suspect that Icewynderkel will never be a commune, and that Ackleberry will end up being horribly twisted from its displacement to keep that side of balance
/talking about stuff I don't know anything about.

Jojobo is more likely to come out and be the 'bad' side of balance, to Ackleberry's 'good'.
