Recessional isn't quite as good as Batbane. It doesn't keep them from sipping/eating, it randomly prevents it. If it stops you from sipping/eating, it doesn't take your sip/herb balance, you can always sip again or eat again.

This event required so much time in enemy territory in order to stop the nuclear bomb from hitting Glom.
And yet I still cannot make myself not go all-out for Glom-events. Oh events, why must you be such a seductive torture?
This last question leads to: When is the next?!

Oh. Okay, it makes a bit more sense.
You have my sympathy, though - having to face an army of demigods with your own army of fledgeling noncombatants, having your morale beat down mercilessly through the course of the entire event, doing everything you can to think ahead because you could never hope to overcome a direct military conflict (and failing), being yelled at because you're the only figure of a leader your organization has left and you aren't doing a 100% job at it because you're still learning.
Wait, wrong org. Balls.
(Edit to your edit: That Prime Seren attack was the highlight, honestly, that whole thing was the tensest I've ever been. "AHHHH GLOMDORING'S ATTACKING PRIME PUT UP EVERY SINGLE DEFENSE YOU'VE GOT" etc. Though I'm sure looking for Hoaracle's temple the next day was fun. lol.)

To clarify, also - to us, she's... uh. Some kid. Blessed by Moon or something.

Hey, it gave me something to do, and found a couple of rooms I hadn't had mapped yet.
From our end of things it was a "wait until Nocht tells us what to do," and so we were happy enough to make up things to do to fill the time.
Also: Your defense of Maylea's realm wasn't bad at all, we got wiped out and you took minimal casualties. You just picked the wrong realm-explorer to attack / kill (there were a couple of us).

Yes, well, perhaps you can see why we were going at it all-out knowing that our first introduction to this event was "omg it's going to destroy what makes Glom Glom! And Mother Night too!"

If we had known you could just pick up the mirror... and then everyone started screaming 'GO IN GO IN THEY GOT THE MIRROR WE GOTTA GO TAKE IT BACK GO GO GO YELL YELL YELL' etc and yeah. That really wasn't pretty.

Well, we were going all-out, too. Deliberately spending hours and coming up with everything we could to mislead you and your spies, with moderate success, and in the end we got shoehorned into the violent conflict we were dying to avoid in the first place - which has screwed over the morale of a lot of people.
I mean, we couldn't even defend the realm on our own, in a very much Seren vs. Glom event. We had to call in Magnagora.

And Gaudiguch! Mass Badluck is no fun.
That said, it was a darned close thing on our end; we're really lucky we managed to get it, was by the skin of our teeth. That was about as close as you can get one of these events one way or the other. Don't let it get to ya. We had our morale hit yesterday in Prime Seren (though not quite the same, I know).
And the misdirection was a good idea; only problem is that we were waiting word from On High (and when it came we just focused). The misdirection mostly served to keep a lot of us actively interested and following the event, unfortunately. That said, in general it's a pretty good plan.

We were waiting too, for ... I don't know, really. The mother to show up, so she could reunite with her child and ____ ?
It's funny, though. To you, we're carrying a nuke to drop on your forest. To us, you guys are just being wankers and killing babies - the usual.

Remember that whole 'shades of gray' thing? Heh. This seems like a pretty good example of that.
Edit: It's not like we go around killing babies without a purpose. Especially babies in Prime Seren.

Never let the anxious masses spur you into activity, I know this from firsthand experience, they might get ancy, but be 100% ready, they'll like being alive more than being dead
Mirami2010-09-06 05:59:40
Man, after Xenthos' thing, it makes a whole lot more sense. Like Alianna said, all Seren knew was "This kid is blessed by Moon and must be protected." I have a feeling we would have done better if we'd known "This baby will destroy Glomdoring if she lives" rather than "this baby is blessed by moon and must be protected".
Even before I knew that bit, though, it was a fun event. Well played by both sides, and the mass combat wasn't too out-of-balance, even when all the orgs got involved. Well played, everybody.

You're looking for HerbBane, which acts on herbs, and doesn't take balance either - you can just go ahead and spam eat as much as you'd like and take less damage from the side-effect than being mobbed by weevils in a perfect-fourthed room. It also costs 3 power per minute, and is single target ._.
On a separate note, was fun to see people burrowing during the Prime raid. (And agreed with above - probably would have seen shrine/nexus powers running 24/7 if we'd have known that )
Lehki2010-09-06 07:40:22
Was only yelling for people to go into Nocht's realm because there was like 10ish people at our end the fissure, and more spread out, when I went through, and about 5 random gloms in Nocth's realm. ):
