Take into consideration who said it.

And that, for nearly a month, almost everything I've heard from various people is "Hey, I need your approval for this great idea I have. OH BY THE WAY I've already done it, isn't it nice?" Not just in the game, in RL too. I'm snippy, and I'm sorry I hurt your feelings Sadie.

What leads a crazy person to join the city of logic?

There are plenty of crazy people in Hallifax already. wink.gif

Lately things have been going pretty well for me ingame: fiance returned, was able to get one set of the epic finished early on, got the artifact bubble pipe, traded it in, now my staff is non-decaying and resetting, and soon to be customized. My ego is at an all time high, nearly hit 8k. The only thing that could make this better is if I won in the lottery.

But, I hate searching for the seahorse, because it is so difficult, and the only people capable of finding it on their own are trackers.

I, too, enjoyed the cities-v-communes time, but there's no strong reason for Glom to go back to it, and no internally-acceptable way for Seren to force it to happen.

EDIT: No reason for Mag to ally with Celest, either.

The protection of Nature (or its active expansion in Glom's case) versus industrialization is a perfectly legitimate reason to ally or not ally and is (or should be) just as definitive a part of an org's values as anything else.

Magnagora's polar opposite is NOT Celest; it's Serenwilde. Glom's is Celest. Halli and Gaudi are no one's opposites, but Celest and Mag have more reason to ally with them than either of the communes, who have virtually none.

The current axes of alliances in Lusternia make very little sense from an actual organizational values, goals, and priorities standpoint.

A flourish of trumpets sound in your ears as you inhale the last of the kafe; abruptly, a gilded throne room filled with cinnamon-skinned, sari-clad priestesses flashes before your eyes.
As the herb burns to nothing, your vision blurs, and your flesh grows dead and cold. A sharp needle begins to stitch your lips together.

As the faeleaf smoulders, beams of moonlight drift about you.
This hookah is the best.thing.ever.

There are quite a few 'insane' people in Hallifax already. The trick is to be insane while also being completely logical, at least superficially. It's an interesting thing to try or see tried, as, if done successfully, it's immensely entertaining.

What would happen if Ryoko decided that Cirno, and not Kyon, needs to die?
Nariah2010-09-10 12:57:43
I must tweet about my longing for a lack of rants thread. Where else could I whine about people who come to Lusternia to roleplay their various RL deviations? And usually to Magnagora too.

The energy vortex flashes and a vortex karibidean flies out of it.

Lilian is attacking a vortex karibidean.

A vortex karibidean enters from the southeast on the aetherways.

Nierrta, Gentle Winged Beauty of the Wilde becomes dimmer as a vortex karibidean siphons energy from her.
Nierrta, Gentle Winged Beauty of the Wilde implodes and your body is instantly torn apart by the unstable reality of the Aetherways.
You have been slain by misadventure.

Killed an uninjured ship in a single hit instantly, at more than 4000 hull. WTF?

Ships automatically implode when their power levels go to 0, and karibs sap power. Need to keep more in the active reserve.
Lendren2010-09-10 14:44:26
We certainly weren't at zero. We'd been siphoning for a half hour and not using any, and the prompt power was also full.

It's the power in 'energy reserves' that karibideans siphon away, and if that number falls to 0 you will implode. I think the amount they siphon is kind of random as well. We usually leave 40-50 in reserves when hunting. The power you siphon doesn't come into it, that stays in the siphon modules. I think this has happened to everyone at one point or another. Call it learning the hard way :/

ship status
Energy Reserves : 34 <-- this is the number you need to watch
Available Power : 10

The ship has a passive screech ready.

How much you siphon is irrelevant if it isn't being diverted into the ship's power reserve. For implosion avoidance, the one number you need to watch is on SHIP STATUS... which I think is simply "Ship Power", but it's been a while.

EDIT: Oh, Talan has it.
Lendren2010-09-10 15:28:09
My point about siphoning wasn't that I think siphoning adds reserves, it's to give you an idea of what we were doing: siphoning and killing gargantuans, i.e., nothing that could explain draining the ship's power down to nothing. We hadn't even hit other karibideans before that except one, as I recall. I think we did two shockwaves maybe. Hadn't even fused, no travelling either. Nothing to drain power even a little, let alone all the way to nothing.

But given that only Barrin would have the information, we'll never really know. Unlikely as Talan's theory seems given what little info we have available, it's the only one we have, and therefore, the most likely explanation.

Hay Lendren, being undocked drains the ships power reserves. It's like fuel, that you can occasionally use for other things.
