Mag doesn't exclude people and it doesn't ignore them. You have to want to be noticed.

Notice is good.

Either someone comes out and helps you to be a better Mag when you fail, or you succeed and they keep pressing down until you fail and remind you of your place.

You can't try to hide in the shadows, you have to be in the light and make people take notice, and when they take notice, the people who like you will absorb you into a cliche, or you'll form your own. Literally, in Magnagora, it is better to be hated or loved than to be ignored.
