That's because everyone else left/went back to their other characters/stopped playing.
Rika, I know you have a huge hate-on for Hallifax, but please try to keep it to yourself so this guy doesn't feel like he shouldn't look somewhere. We have plenty of active people who enjoy the city! Just because some people don't like it or have left doesn't mean the whole thing is crap. That's just, like, your opinion, man.
Moving on!

Yeah, I was a stupid noob. I thought Hallifax looked super neat, and I couldn't resist the loboshigaru race, but I didn't know anything about stats and stuff, and Aeromancers were the only guild available when I started. Don't tell anybody, but being a lobo mage is not fun. Hopefully I played off my guild-hopping with some tact...
Daraius we loved you come back!! Haha, but no, I could kind of tell OOCly the whole time you were doing it be a monk and skipping out on the Centre, but I think you handled it in a classy manner. You didn't just go I WANT TO BE A MONK! -run away-, you made up a whole story and reason for moving, and that was pretty cool of you!

Hah thats great. Its pretty awesome that you choose RP or your preferred weapon over what everyone insists best for PK. I always wanted scimitars, but its discouraging when everyone says it plain sucks. Its also discouraging when you lose alot at PK because of your weapon disadvantage

You know, I've always wondered about this. I realize that the logic behind giving the weapons different stats is for RP flavor, but if that just forces everyone to feel like they have to pick whichever are the best for combat or else not be able to enjoy the game, then, um...doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? I think that, while an alright idea on paper, the different stats for the weapons just doesn't work out in practice, and that it would be really nice if things were sort of evened out across the board. But that's just my opinion.

Now I'm the best Hallifaxian lobo monk ever!

I agree. Seeing Katanas and rapiers all over the place gets kind of repetitive.

You. I like you. I too made all my choices based on RP, and haven't regretted them yet. My race absolutely sucks for my guild (but the guild is awesome), I picked the "weaker" of the two tertiaries, and I'm not shelling out money for lots of shiny artifacts. And I love playing the game because of those choices.
Really, unless you are top tier, your weapon choice is not going to be the game-breaker. Unless you are hardcore into PK and really devote yourself to it, you may just draw even.
Casilu2010-09-29 03:16:13
I hate to interrupt everyone's love-fest, but you can get those sort of weapons to where you need it. It is just a pain in the ass.

Yeah, these words speak truth to me. Definitely inspiring I will try out a guild as an alt that i really want to play, and if i can feel it, i`m turning over with my main. Cheers Everiine

Sigh, the grass is always greener on the other side. I miss nature flow, scent, spores and penumbra (my favourite skill ever!) from when I was a Shadowdancer, and I miss the multiple chance to crit, skive and the awesome harmony regen from when I was a Shofangi. Heck, I even miss my little bard-let's cow rustling and ability to create my own song. Greedy me.

Sounds like the grass is greener all around you, not just on one side.
Unknown2010-09-29 13:17:16
Haha, I'm sure that the moment I create a new alt (not going to change guilds for a loooooong time, can't afford the credits), I'll miss something about the Illuminati.

I keep forgetting thinking I am one level higher than I actually am.

What do I have to do in order to politely make someone stop talking to me?
I mean, it's not that I dislike the person in question.
I just don't know them. At all. Never initiated conversation with them in my life. They take it upon themselves.
I'm not trying to be an unsociable ass, I just ... do not feel like talking right now. :X

What Gleip said, just politely say sorry, need a bit of alone time or something.

I keep realizing I can't tell when people are alts of other peoples, because I only have one alt, and it's only permanent because of a credit purchase
And then I stop worrying, and go back to designing things for cartels, and eating cup cakes.

It shouldn't matter whether they are alts or not. You should still be treating them the same way.

It's best not to know, I think. And I would consider it extremely bad form for anyone to tell you outright. That said, I've gathered that there's really only like four actual players of Lusternia, so it's pretty safe to assume everyone's an alt.

marry me?
all joking aside, the only problem i have with others alts is when i get ((lulz yo its soandso, kekekeke hook me up with a cf/gold cause we're buddies))
if i hadn't spent credits on some of my characters, i'd probably suicide all of them besides like 5.
