I'm tempted to keep adding to this drama, but I'll hold off for now. o_o
More importantly, my zMUD map keeps randomly changes exits to one-way and up my auto-walking. ><

Sounds stupid to bring it up here to the forums in the first place. Sounds like an attempt to make drama.

I see no reason why envoys can't make reports on skills outside of their use, even when it pertains to buffs. Both new Guardian guilds have some kinks to work out, and as far as I can understand, the job of envoy is to preserve overall balance, not get in to a buff-report arms race or a nerf-report arms race with some other envoy or something of that nature. A report from Sarra helping hammer out a problem here or there in the Illuminati isn't going to hurt the Moondancers in the least, especially when nobody came to her with ideas anyways from what this thread says.

I liked Shuyin's "Buff something" and "Nerf something" envoy reports. Literally, that's what they were called.

You get elected/appointed to serve your guild/commune/the game, which means you have to be accountable to them, which means they need to know what you're doing for them. If they know that, they can call you out on it or be happy as they choose.
I'll trade you. Syridean was inducted into the guild, favoured up to GR3 "just because" and contested for GM within a day. When he won, he and the other guild leaders decided it would be peachy to sell themselves guild credits so they can be in the guild clans.

lolCelest politics. "New Celest, the Resurgence of Drama" amirite?
I'm honestly surprised that other orgs are not this way. I'm just way too used to having elections in what seems like every other IG year to the point where I just don't care anymore.

Seren has drama. Mag has drama. I know nothing about Halli or Glom. Gaudi has drama but we embrace it and make it part of our culture (go corruption month! Whoo!)

Ahahahahaha.
He didn't even do the returning member's advancement task, did he? And the other leaders claim to not know it and decided to ignore it.

If there's anything I learned from the envoys, it's:
1) never consult your guild at large except for brainstorming about something underpowered in a way that's difficult to resolve (EDIT: But do keep in constant contact with people whose opinions on balance you trust and acknowledge any messages you get.)
2) your guild wants upgrades, even when it needs downgrades, and the best you can do is work around that as quietly as possible or surrender your soul to the envoy arms race
3) when non-combatants desire to have an opinion on combat matters, they will be given one by a combatant, much like religion or political affiliation
If you really want to make life better for everyone, brainstorm up a better envoy system. I would be much more impressed if Sarra did that without a Gaudi alt, but the truth is that what she put up is much better than any Moondancer change, and an envoy shouldn't need permission to do what is right.

At least Syridean contested an open position. It's not quite making a power grab for a seated position, and you can always take comfort that now he's on the Star Council. I swear, we need rehab for everyone who's ever been on TSC. (EDIT: The credits thing is pretty lol-worthy, though.)
And in related news, the other person who lost the Aquamancer GA elections to Otem BAAAWWWED and ragequit the Aquamancers, then joined the Tahtetso. It's like... seriously? You expect a GR3 who whined about not getting undersec to win the GA position? The person came in third, only beating Syridean because he got zero votes since he was stepping down.
EDIT:
I noticed. Someone dropped a flame-sigil'd copy of the Gaudiguch Gossip just north of the Moonhart and the "Kalin's corruption" thing was like, the first article.

It's technically power-grabbing!

Oh wow. I remember a few years back, I played an old-school MUD with false exits, one-way exits, multi-location exits, wildly variable intra-room distances, strange geometry, custom room desc outputs that were difficult for mapper triggers to work off of, and all those sorts of thing designers do when they want to make their MUD difficult to map.
I was mapping it with zMUD. So on top of the purposely anti-map design of the game in general, I also had to deal with the zMUD mapper's quirks and foibles. I feel your pain (well, I remember it, anyway).
Still, when it works, it works great. I'm just glad Lusternia's built to facilitate mapping and be easy to navigate in general. It's one of the reasons I prefer IRE MUDs.

People that think this is about permission to do something, or the Moondancers needing changes obviously can't read what I'm actually writing, so there's no point in continuing this.

The drama manifests in different ways though. We don't actually have a huge pile of elections in Seren, and we never really have. The vaaaaaast majority of elections replace inactive or retiring members. Celest has a lot more attempts on active positions. Dunno about Mag though.

I don't care to dig back through the last 3 pages of Sylphas' drama to find the exact quote about kalin telling Sarrasri to log on her MD and use the envoy slot, but I just want to tweet that...
YAY KALIN IS SO CORRUPT HE CONTROLS MOONDANCERS FROM GAUDIGUCH

Do you want to know the awesomely stupid thing about this?
While some of the very people accusing sarrasri of bias in this thread were clamouring, "BUFF MY ORG SKILLZ", or "NERF DEM OTER GUYZ", Sarrasri was envoying jewelery. And other trade skills. And cross org shared skillsets. That needed it.
So to come trapsing on the forums screaming about Sarrasri being baised?
This house for you.
