I hereby declare that Gaudiguch is the new home of snugglers.
That was our latest news post, glad it worked.

Subj: Snugglers
Greetings, people of Serenwilde. I have had a vision that I wish to share with you all.
I was on a mountain peak, overlooking our fair forest. I was contemplating the beauty of nature and enjoying the cool breeze on my fur when a mighty voice spoke to me, booming in my head. It said, "SYLPHAS, THE TIME HAS COME. GO TO YOUR PEOPLE AND TELL THEM THAT THEIR TIME OF BONDAGE IS AT AN END. NO MORE WILL THE REACHES OF THE SERENWILDE CONTAIN THEM ALL. SEND THEM OUT TO SEE THE WORLD, TO POPULATE THE BASIN WITH THEIR KIND, FOR THEY ARE THE TRUE MASTERS OF CREATION."
He was very loud and most insistent. So I say to you all now, "Go forth! Spread your kind to every foreign land! Be fruitful and fill this world with your progeny!" Personally, Gaudiguch is looking pretty good, it's very warm there, you'll like it.
Be quick now, don't disobey the booming disembodied voice. Run along and play somewhere else.
Yours in service,
Sylphas Talnara

No, Serens. As in, they are still in your guilds.

At least now it's tolerable to idle at the Mother Tree while I wait for pixies/scholars/pilgrims to respawn. The snugglers are emigrating to Gaudiguch!

You're also on that list of "people to befriend".
Goal: make friends with all the people (especially leaders) who want to purge the snuggliness. Step two: purge the snuggliness.
Edit: Dear admin, I can haz a new Auseklis?

Because it would be wrong of me to further hijack the Trades thread:
This is what I'm afraid of. I'm already having to adjust prices and stopped selling herbs just so they don't sell out and I actually have enough to use for kegs. For big rich players these changes might not mean much, but it's going to be horrible on the newbies and such. Do the admins not realize which portion of the playerbase they're hurting with these changes?
Still not nearly as painful as the double commodity costs on forged equipment. Those low leveled knights are really put in the hole to get decent weapons/armor.
I'm already spending, at minimum, 25k+ on fieldplate for my Serenguard and that's taking advantage of the cheap comms in the guild shop. It's taken me the entirety of my character's life (levels 1 to 37, currently) to save up that much and that's after doing scholars, commodities quests, pixies, and pilgrims almost non-stop to rake in gold - and even then, I'm competing with characters from all other orgs for all those sources of gold, except the pixies. The only saving grace I have as a forger is that I can make all-metal weapons and smelt them down to recycle commodities so I don't get killed on forging a decent non-masterwork axe. However, masterwork weapons are almost as expensive as fieldplate and I don't even know if I can make all-metal masterwork weapons/fieldplate to do the same.
Raising elixir/salve prices would put both of my characters in permanent poverty because I buy potions much more frequently than I do commodities for armor and weapons. It's taken me nearly an RL week just to scrape together enough gold for a full set of cures on Denust and that's only because Eldanien sells a bunch of them dirt-cheap to Tahtetso in one of his shops. And, to boot, his tahto decays in 6 IG months so I have to replace that soon.
Tweet: At this point, I'm praying for that commodities revamp that Estarra mentioned in another thread, because things are looking pretty bleak for me and everyone else in my position. If prices for herbs and potions go up, prices for everything else need to start going down.

Commodities revamp won't help alchemy prices, since herbs aren't part of that system.

It should probably be noted pixies/bards/scholars/pilgrims are not the best method of getting gold.

No, but if herb prices are going to skyrocket again, then prices for everything else need to start coming down to compensate. It's slightly easier on magic-using classes because you don't need to have a weapon forged and because Greatrobes don't cost nearly as much as fieldplate, but enchanted Greatrobes are in the 7k - 9k range to my observation and that's pretty hefty for a new or poor character.

I just started a new character myself, a week old now and it had a full set of vials, herbs, weapons, enchanted greatrobes, etc in about 6 played hours, without buying a single credit. Getting gold is not an issue in this game, just start by doing easy village honour quests and the likes.

I'm with Talan. I spent about 6M essence on it and got back about 2K! (I didn't learn past Flight because I wouldn't have a cult any time before these changes occurred and I knew I'd lose most of what I spent learning, too.)

Presuming that:
- The majority of villages are not owned by an organization or alliance that is hostile to yours.
- You know how to do honours quests in the first place.
Then, yes. Getting gold as a newbie is not a problem in this game. In all other cases (which is what I'm trying to get at...)
This is a non-issue for alts. I get it. But if you'd refer to Aubrey's post which got quoted earlier, this situation hurts actual newbies pretty severely, especially warriors.

I have never earned less than 20k from my time in Newton, on any character.
Also, I got to circle 10 or so before finding out that monks KA KICK instead of KICK
