Lulz. I'd much rather have dedicated characters in the guilds than alts.
I mean, I love that now, at 12:30 just past midnight on the west coast, we've got 17 members online. Seventeen. That's fantastic. Save that one time Aeromancers got uppity (hiss!) we've dominated topguilds, too. That's great too.
But it's hard to delegate. Undersecs have to be around when the Administrator is to be appointed (I think) and preferably GR3 too (since they're able to take care of rank advancements... I think... we haven't gotten this written down clearly enough yet!) and blah blah blah.
Non-undersecs seem to rarely take it upon themselves to help out, which is unfortunate, but I can't blame them for it. It's tiring.
Edit: It also doesn't help that I'm undertaking this atrocious Epic Quest, sucking up seven+ hours a day of my spare time, all in an attempt to discover some extra guild rp (and thus far failing miserably - and actually making me feel bad for Gaudiguch with the way it's written out).

I thought I appointed someone when they weren't around before. I can't remember though. I know I can oust people when they're not there.

And I would have Lucan be more productive and useful, if my hands weren't so damn full with Ongaku.

Could be worse, you could be the Institute. You know, like 2 active people, none over gr2?
You need to be around at the correct time. I rarely see less than five people active, including GM and GA.

I still think it was a bad idea in the first place for me to move Luc. I honestly regretted it the minute I forgot all my skills.
But it was too late by then. I also doubt the Templars will let me back at this point, and I don't want any loldrama from attempting to go back.

You can be appointed without being around.
Llesvelt2010-07-27 09:13:53
The last few posts are the reason I only play one character for an extended period.
I have two, currently, Llesvelt and Artt. I only play one of them when I do not play the other in quite some time, though.
Mostly to keep away the boredom.
They are both my Mains if that makes any sense. I do not really think of any as them as my Alt, Llesvelt was just the first one I made and thus the one that I name my forum account after.

ORDERAPPOINTing someone for the first time and messing it up repeatedly to the amusement of others and embarrassment of myself, as evidenced in God's log, only to find, upon locating the correct rank #, that it... is blank.

You'll feel the wrath of Fain for that one, I'm sure.

Considering that you're one of the "hey, go to these people if you wanna be in my order" guys...I'm kinda surprised.

He took the power away from everyone though. Even our High Priest can't promote or appoint.

Yes, the GA can appoint undersecretaries when they aren't logged in.
I thought that Furien was talking about people not making politickingalts, heh.

turns out as a Viscanti I can intimidate our guards quicker then I can empower them.

And then 0 gold for everything else, like:
- Food, which I still need because I'm level 74 after killing myself with crotamine 5 times last night in an OOC fit of rage/IC nervous breakdown that nobody in Celest even noticed. The only message I got about it was from Sahmiam, and even if it was OOC that sucks pretty badly. Moreso if it was IC.
- A new tahto, because the one I've got decays in 5 months.
- Vials, herbs, and salves, because that's the only viable thing I can do for guild advancement right now.
Dude.
Ask Aeral IG, she'll give you stuff from her shop severely discounted or for free. And food, just poke her and she'll make whatever she can for free. I got about 13k from the festival and it's burning a hole in my pocket, so I'm willing to help out.
Ask Zayden IG, any herbs he can pick he'll give you 50+ of for free. I don't really care if Zayden gets completely broke - because herbies make decent money anyway. If there wasn't a trade ban on Mag I'd offer the herbs that Lakya has, too.
And I noticed. I just didn't know what to do. So now I will do something; just offer my help IG.

I think he's mainly complaining about lack of novice-helping undersecs, actually

So feel free to pile on a bunch of alts so you can help get undersec eventually!

Unknown2010-07-27 14:04:39
I can manage playing two characters. Even then, there are days the alt just isn't going to happen. (Though lately, the lessons-for-login deal has me doing a routine balancing act. I have no idea how people with more characters manage that, unless they're just burdened with an insane amount of free time.)
Though, I reccommend having that one alt. She gives me much better mental equilibrium and perspective than ONLY playing Akui. And I got to try out an archetype that I've been curious about for RL years, but never curious enough to move Akui. So, the one alt enriches my game experience, but I couldn't juggle more than one.

Uh? Who's going to loldrama you for going back?

Not the Templars. We need people, plain and simple, who are interested in the guild and aren't going to cause problems. Akui, Aliod and myself wont make a fuss, nor will Egran or Tlarras, if the Illuminati do? What do they expect, people always hop over to a new guild and if they get bored/can't find their niche, they're going to leave. It's why when people joined the Templars in the first place, and said oh well I'm just waiting for the Illuminati I said that's fine.
