I plan on forcing three people to talk over a problem and I can force them to do such a thing easily enough,

Lulz. I'd much rather have dedicated characters in the guilds than alts.

I mean, I love that now, at 12:30 just past midnight on the west coast, we've got 17 members online. Seventeen. That's fantastic. Save that one time Aeromancers got uppity (hiss!) we've dominated topguilds, too. That's great too.

But it's hard to delegate. Undersecs have to be around when the Administrator is to be appointed (I think) and preferably GR3 too (since they're able to take care of rank advancements... I think... we haven't gotten this written down clearly enough yet!) and blah blah blah.

Non-undersecs seem to rarely take it upon themselves to help out, which is unfortunate, but I can't blame them for it. It's tiring.

Edit: It also doesn't help that I'm undertaking this atrocious Epic Quest, sucking up seven+ hours a day of my spare time, all in an attempt to discover some extra guild rp (and thus far failing miserably - and actually making me feel bad for Gaudiguch with the way it's written out).

So you're the one stealing my work on the epic quest. pissed.gif

More like, you likely (could have been someone else) took the line I got 98% done (without realizing it was that close, seeing as it was my first) two nights ago.

And for these past two, you simply haven't been around. You got off lucky.

Do it on an aethership. With a reinforced door and a flamed monolith, only demigod enchanters can escape. (Or novices who still have portals.) Without the aethership, the demigod requirement expands a bit to include anyone who can disenchant the sigil. Now that they're removed omniscience, it's pretty foolproof. smile.gif

Foreign nexus worlds serve the same purpose, but they're larger and they could all just pick a corner to sulk in.

Which is why that project tracking epic questing should be revived, except that no one paid attention to it anyway.

All the drama over the Gaudi quests + the ridiculous time investment required to get lines done in a "timely" manner is why I haven't even tried it :/

It's hard to do that because projects really fall to one person to upkeep. I've tried a simple schedule of Full Moons and it's worked a bit, but it's really not ideal. I can't imagine trying to keep track of something beyond "Ok, you've got Estar, go."
Furien2010-07-27 20:41:30
If you revived that then we'd just fight over who got first priority.

Given the nature of the visions, and how the honours lines (IE, 'She has witnessed an Enigmatic Paradox of Enlightenment') have absolutely nothing to do with the nature of the quests themselves, plus the whole 'seven+ hours grind, minimum' thing, I find it to be a subpar epic quest in general. I went in looking for some guild RP, came out facepalming.

I want to tweetrant about the honours lines, actually. Thus far I have:

She is a witness to the Enigmatic Paradox of Enlightenment.
She has peered into the Mysteries of the Great Pyramid.

And you can find the associated visions/flavour associated with completing the quest for those lines here (Pastebin, spoilers, etc etc).

Honestly? Drachou was cooler when he didn't talk. And didn't use words like 'feather-brained'. Gaudiguch isn't universally opposed to science or anything. sad.gif (Edit: 'The Continuum must be shattered!' is pretty cool though.)

Furien, those lines are random. With the next line, you might get either one of those again, or something else entirely.

It's easy to check if someone else is working on the quest. Painfully easy. If you made the revolt, it's fine, but if others made it, then others are working on it.

And for your accusations

He is a blood kin to the Guardian Drachou.
He has dreamed of the Fiery Truth of the Eternal Flame.
He is a witness to the Enigmatic Paradox of Enlightenment.
He has peered into the Mysteries of the Great Pyramid.

I think I've been working on it longer than you.

That... doesn't change that you could have easily finished the line I helped work on. tongue.gif You could just accept it as-is, since I only ever work on it when you're gone (since I know you're at 4/5) and just finish the last one.
