Subj: Hemp Wars
The Hemp Wars between the villages of Delport and Stewartsville break out as the human villagers engage in a fierce economic struggle. No longer caring about the politics of the Basin, the Village of Delport declares itself free and no longer under the sphere of influence of the Sovereign Territories of Hallifax, and the Village of Stewartsville declares itself free and no longer under the sphere of influence of the Free Collective of Glomdoring.
The Village of Delport has called down a temporary spell of peace to protect its borders, declaring that it does not ever wish war within its borders at any time.

Welp, we are basically forced to raid to maintain our current position.
Doman2010-05-01 19:01:14
Oh, don't even do that, Alacardael. You know damn well the system's broken
Talan2010-05-01 19:03:33
That did seem buggy... We didn't even influence all the mobs in Stewartsville. With crusades, and no opposition, it seems reasonable to get it in one round, considering we also had some affinity boost. It's surprising that Delport went just as fast without crusades, and considering you guys went into it with neutral feeling though. Also had fewer mobs there as we had most of the farmers.
Unknown2010-05-01 19:04:05
A better question would be is 'are 3 villages worth 20+ guards each'
Xiel2010-05-01 19:04:10
Best get to petitioning a change for Conquest then, because, as it stands, Glomdoring won't be switching away from it.
Because, apparently, switching out from Conquest removes your ENTIRE conquest pool rather than making it dormant. Considering organizations with religious or commercial ruling styles don't lose the power or commodities they gain when they switch out, people who choose Conquest get stuck in there unless they want to lose everything (which doesn't make any form of sense whatsoever).

We're still waiting on confirmation for that... I'm told Estarra will be updating the helpfile at some near point.

That is lulz.
Urazial2010-05-01 19:06:31
I don't know if the system is broken or not, but villages have been won in as short a time previously. Glomdoring has also been working on killing villagers as per conquest so it doesn't seem that out of line, really. There were quite a few people from Glomdoring in Stewarts influencing as well. I'm sure if this had been one of the usual weird hour revolts when few Gloms are to be found it could've gone on a lot longer.
But hey, the game seems to be gravitating less towards conflict and more to eco-friendly cuddle events, so maybe it is working as intended.

It's closer to 40+ each. You guys seemed to have little trouble tanking groups of 20.

They've got Aegises coming out of their ears and tanky as hell demi warriors. Does this really surprise you? Why do you think I was trying to get people to estimate how many guards are actually a deterrant vs food for Glom? Having a number anywhere between zero and "enough to make them not even bother" seems kind of worthless. I don't even want to log in today because I'm sure it'll just be another guard argument all day. :/

Peaced revolts generally don't though. I don't think they even finished a full round either, since I know we got one or two... the threshold for winning needs to be looked at maybe.

Unless someone's got some pending issue or e-mail somewhere confirming that there's an update on the way, I won't be holding my breath.

I was actually just considering the power/gold upkeep for guards vs. village power generation only. But that's also a fair argument.

We were spending about twice as much on guards as we were getting for our villages. Then we slashed guards. It sounds like we upped the guards again, so I dunno what's going on with the "are these even worth it?" issue. Morale, I guess?
