Or how about we give guild leaders, city/commune leaders, half the ministers, any guildmembers with tri-trans, any owner of an aethership, and any other potentially qualifying trait the power to marry... and let the couple decide what kind of wedding they want to have?

Because MARRY doesn't give any sort of message, so you'd have a rise in the number of ninjaweddings? whistling.gif

Eh, I reckon at least GMs and CLs should get it.

In Collectivist Hallifax, religious marriages are now a thing of the past!

Muahaha!

Well, except for with Elostian's blessing, naturally.

I admit that I'm surprised this isn't already the case. It seems like a decent and simple enough idea.

Pretty sure you can't be married unless you are already engaged, so... I doubt people are going to wake up one day and go "Holy crap, when I did I marry ?! DAMN YOU NINJA MARRIAGE!!"

I haven't actually ever seen anyone who was 'ninja married'. I dunno why people keep talking about it.

Yeah... if they were engaged long enough to qualify AND if someone popped a ninja-marriage on them, there's nothing saying they couldn't still hold whatever ceremony they want to have with their officiant of choice. It's not like they'd get an honours line Was technically married before the wedding ceremony.

I actually married Ilaveuse and Aeribess before the ceremony because I misheard what he said, and then felt bad the whole time and hoped they didn't notice.

Elostian did the same thing at Araura's wedding. He married them in the middle of it.
