If I was insulting you, you would know it.

Telling someone to "stuff it" is a direct insult, and the hidden subtext is mildly sexual at that.

Anyway, suffice it to say: I was polite and respectful when you posted your log of the Trace incident. I was polite, respectful and apologetic (for leaping to conclusions) when you exploded and began hurling insults on the Twits thread yesterday. I was even polite and respectful in the private message I sent to you yesterday afternoon, suggesting that perhaps exploding on the Twits thread doesn't do you or Gaudiguch any credit.

Feel free to continue exploding at the slightest provocation, but then don't be surprised when people call your character a tyrant and accuse your fellow bullies of being your cronies, because that is EXACTLY what it looks like.

I just have to 'lolwut?' at that.

Well... where do you think the recipient of that insult is supposed to be stuffing the thing they've been told to stuff? In their pocket? tongue.gif

It's an erogenous zone, so yeah.

Anyway, this will be the last time I show up anywhere near a thread or discussion of this nature. I leave you to ponder the above.

I agree. I did a double take at that statement. I'm almost 100% sure there was no hidden sexual subtext there. I've actually... never heard anyone use that phrase to imply such.

At any rate, Onward!

Just to add this in...

Lucan is Everiine's son. However, he'll never be recognized through FAMILY TREE as his son because Everiine hasn't been married to consider Lucan. That doesn't make Lucan any less his son though, despite the fact that game mechanics don't show it. The game mechanics don't trump the RP in that situation, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, someone shouldn't be impersonating someone of that family, but if Akraasiel's working on forming the actual Tliwx family through mechanics, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't wear it. Alisa's not formally an i'Xiia, yet she wears the surname along with i'Liys (or whatever it is), and no one gets on her case about it (that I've seen).

"Stuff it" is a foreshortening of a request for someone to insert the item (or idea) in question into their posterior region.

Look it up if you don't believe me, but I'm not wrong. Now that we've cleared that up, I'm outro for real.

There is a vast difference between a family recognising, accepting someone as a member of their family, and allowing the name of their family to be worn... and someone taking the name of a historical denizen family with nothing to substantiate the claim other than "I got someone to title me with it and so it means I am." I would hope you can see that the two are not even close to the same thing.

Edit:: and 'working at it" only just started, due to this blow out on the name. it also doesn't mean it will succeed. So no, you shouldn't be wearing the name till you have the admin confirming the fact you are a member of that family. For instance the Disati family will be petitioning to become Iborchi soon, we don't however pretend to be Iborchi or wear the name because we are not Iborchi. We still need 4 more family members and to write up our aplication for it.

Condescending much? smile.gif I didn't say they were exactly the same thing. I was just throwing that out there as examples of exceptions to the rule. Not once did I state that this was exactly the issue that was taking place here. Thanks though! happy.gif

Well glad you came out to add absolutely nothing to the actual conversation then. smile.gif

P.S. This post was condescending, not my last one to you. wink.gif

I do not consider the matter cleared up, and can cite several sources that disagree with you. I'm glad you find yourself infallible in something as muddled as english slang, though. I've read books by individuals who have all sorts of doctorates in linguistics that wouldn't be so bold as to make that claim!

Topic Closed.

Warning levels increased.

I'd think people'd know better than this by now.

A note on historical family names: in order to start a historical family, you will need an existing family of at least 10 members and approval of the city patron where this family historically resided. Please see HELP FAMILY.
