So I have two characters, and even though I'm only playing one of them right now (Winnae) I don't want the other one's beast to die. So I have to log onto him, and make some gold, and pay stable fees =/
There really should be a way where you pay a large amount of gold to put your pet into stasis, and then you can't take it out for at least 1 IG year, but then you don't have to remember log in on them every 36 days. And realistically, if you're going to remember to do it, you'll be logging in much more often than that, since a mistake there means the death of the beast.
Specifics of the idea provided as an example only of course.

Idea sounds great. Would 10,000 gold be an acceptable price? At city/commune stable rates, that would be 66 days' worth of fees, so you'd have to be sure that you're not going to want them back for a while.

I like this idea! It takes too much effort and so on to raise a beast, get it trained exactly right, only to have it die cause something happened IRL that prevents you from logging in for a couple of months.
Or, if the stasis thing is too difficult/complicated, what about being able to designate a 'beast-sitter?' Someone who's authorized to pay for your beast's stabling while you're away.

I like this better, actually. Less of a hassle for everybody involved (but less guarantee that your beastie won't die). Maybe the sitter would get the same 'the stables
