I am unsure about the retroactive bit, they definitely started keeping track before achievements were put in, but I have a hard time believing I've kill more than the Bashbot that is Ragniliff

All the achievements tracking went in before achievements were officially released, so it was only slightly retroactive.

Next time we have to dock to go repel a raid, we'll just kidnap you instead, it'll be easier for everyone.

So many cool things to catch up on!

I think I'm still a burnt out on bashing from the GreatHunt grind I did a bit ago, that was intense and I'll never do it again, I think I'll be content with my 30 credits from 2500 points or what not

I went gold bashing today for the first time in a long time but I haven't really been in some time.

I'm also relatively sure that Ragniliff is the top basher who can pump out more essence and gold than humanly possible.

@Sylphas: Wasn't going to quit, just saying I was inexperienced. Plus I was too drowned in the spam to hear most of the drama.

I just read this again, and I feel I must stop to say I believe this is erroneous, at least as far as talking the boredom out of bashing. The more automated you make bashing, in all its aspects, the more mindnumbing it becomes. If you want to try to get more out of it, I recommend turning off as many triggers as you can and attempting to do everything with a few carefully chosen aliases. Or a lot of aliases, if you're feeling up to trying to manual catacombs or astral scorpions (which is entirely possible to do with success).

I still do no use auto-target or auto-swing.

You are right. Auto-swing is for when you need to hunt as efficiently as possible but having the stomach to bash is a different issue. I went through some stages where hunting was fun and exciting, to hunting is repetitive but therapeutic, to hunting is boring and I'll do it as I need gold, to "I've spent too many hours of my life mashing F1 and will work harder IRL, make lots of money and sell credits instead."

I was also pretty motivated to reach level 80 but in between 80-99 there aren't any milestones to achieve unless your race is human.

I hardly ever go hunting just to go hunting. When I go, there's always some other reason and the hunting is a byproduct of it. Like... I'm feeling competitive and want my name higher in the LISTOFFERING SUMMARY than someone else. Or I'm gathering essence and oh, look, it lives inside that critter. Stuff like that. I've never logged on and thought, time to go 'bash!' Which is prolly why I don't level very quickly, of course.

But, it makes the hunting I do do more interesting, I think. That and I don't do the autohunting. The system I use has an auto-bashing feature, but I don't use it. I like doing it semi-manually (I do let the system auto-heal me cause otherwise I'd die way often. I get flustered easily and could totally see myself forgetting which alias had me sip health while hunting. )

But that was still a long time after the game was out.
