Since this is the thread for the latest dingbat sale, I thought it'd be fine to now use it to suggest more dingbat ideas, as the announce post suggests.
No idea what to make that cost, though.

Professor Gargle's Gift-Wrapping Gyroscope
Insert an artisan box, then whatever objects you want in the box into the Gyroscope. TWIST GYROSCOPE will prompt the gyroscope to swing into action, packing all the objects into the box and sealing it. When the box is opened, it will release glamour fireworks, as well as flash an eye-seering, multi-colour message for all in the room to see - basically, whatever you type in the portion of the syntax.

Inquisitor's Gavel (50 dingbats)
Silences all personal enemies in a location for a short period ala divine mandate, and adds some sort of room message to indicate this. Only usable once per Lusternian month.

That Gyroscope could do with some limitation on its use, I think.
As written, people could pop cheap items in there and simply use it as a generator for fireworks and messages. In a perfect world it would only be used for gift-giving, but....

How about the Shard of an Icelord. You can RAISE SHARD and icewalls will magically erect in all directions.

No thanks, considering the limited auction artifact Wand of Ice.

Thong of Carcer, come on.

Yeah, just sell the Wands of Ice straight up.

Wands of Ice, straight up
On the rocks, perhaps?

Dingbat items are supposed to be whimsical and relatively simple - something with such a powerful effect on combat (such as an ice wand) would not fall into that category. Bubblixes, talking dolls, very basic enchantment sort of things (the acquisitio yoyo, the digging top, the kite that lets you know when flyers enter, the surfboard that lets you sprint over water/waterwalk, pig nose, goggles that let you see through doors, dirigibles, teapots, etc).

Gravity boots - gives the levitate defense and when you do JUMP, you end up into the sky for a brief period of time before hurtling back down to earth, takes balance/requires balance to do though.

As long as they are sold for 3000+ credits or I get a refund on the price difference

I'd be hesitant about giving out permanent levitate, as it prevents several skills and must be stripped by them (such as aeromancer raise staff or geomancer lodestone) before they become useful. Perhaps if it acted like an infinite-charge enchantment with a special message, rather than a permanent defense.
EDIT: Plus, don't you mean ANTI-gravity boots?
Sylphas2010-05-27 01:14:10
Surfboards give waterwalk?
Opposite of the dirigible, something that picks up items from people and delivers them to you.

I forgot to add the anti part, whoops.
What I imagine as far as the levitate defense goes, you just get to do some sort of command to turn on levitate for no balance (like the dingbat yoyos) and it'd still be strippable as needed. Only putting it back up will be no problem/easy, but arties tend to help do that anyway (soap, surfboard, yoyo, etc).
While we're on boots:
Cement boots - gives extreme summon/movement resistance, but reduces your moves per room down to 1 or perhaps even a 'gravity/rubble' effect on you. Maybe both! Can add more painful maluses if necessary.

just about every bubblix has a more powerful effect on combat than the ice wand. Even the less powerful ones like the tree of trees is still strong since it makes a great escape tool.
If the Ice Wand was so powerful, it wouldn't be valued at 125 credits.
The pignose may have the biggest impact on combat ever. Even more so than weaponrunes and whatever else you might think of.
Sylphas2010-05-27 01:17:31
Gregori really paid 3k for his? The first batch went for like 1k at the most. I doubt they'd be that high if it wasn't for the limited edition nature of them.
Krellan2010-05-27 01:19:15
he didn't
Eventru2010-05-27 01:19:55
Sorry. Don't buy it.
Nonetheless, it is an existing artifact anyways - and bringing auction artifacts into the main shops is not the topic of this thread.

You don't buy it, but you're also the one who suspects using a rift in distort is a bug.
You're right, that's why my original post was a dingbat item suggestion.

Alright. We're not duplicating existing artifacts into a dingbat item and doing nothing but changing the name. Sorry!
You're welcome to suggest something completely different that does not mimic an existing artifact, however.
And thanks for reminding me to look into rifts and distort - I'd completely forgotten!

Anyone know if the Crow doll interacts with the avatars?
