She's in the wrong spot then.

Obviously.

Never saw her on deathsight (neither dying, killing someone, defending, nor winning/loosing an Arena spar) so I assumed she's a non-combatant. I don't usually go around asking people if they are combatants.

Thank you for the information though.

I didn't want to crowd the rest of the topics, so I decided to post my question here:

I have a faeling ninjakari. I am pondering other guilds of Magnagora. Ur'Guard would allow me to Shadowlord, but currently my skills are optimized towards monk.

Curious on advise towards which guilds would be benefitial with my race, and which guilds I should stay away from unless I reincarnate.

My skills:

Common Skills Rank Pool
------------- ------------ ------------
Combat Transcendent Melee
Resilience Transcendent Fitness
Discernment Gifted Intellect
Highmagic Expert Arcana
Planar Transcendent Mysticism
Discipline Transcendent Willpower
Environment Inept Communion
Aethercraft Master Mysticism

Trade Skills Rank Pool
------------- ------------ ------------
None

Guild Skills Rank Pool
------------- ------------ ------------
Acrobatics Fabled Fitness
Kata Transcendent Melee
Ninjakari
Stealth Transcendent Communion

Thank ya.

You can't be a Shadowlord Faeling unless you join Glom, sorry.

Ah, that makes sense. Any advice for us poor Magna-faelings? Besides reincarnate into human? tongue.gif

Warrior is really not a good place for you. tongue.gif

Besides warrior classes, is what I mean. tongue.gif

Faelings usually have a bunch of domoths on them at least.

My observations of races have come to these conclusions:

- The non-comm's will always be a pretty race. Elfen, Faeling. Non-comm's don't like being ugly races. Because for some of our 'unmentionable crowd', it will distract people away from the trademark 'perky rears and large chests' that are unfortunately all too common for that group of players.

This is incorrect. Go take a look at Vliuun sometime. XD

Ongaku's only pretty when he's under changeself Viscanti. I can't say a skunk is particularly pretty. Cute, perhaps, though he wants to be seen more as feral than a cuddly forest creature. Lucan is a giant dragon man with lots of scars and feathers. Even his dad called him ugly. laugh.gif Xaakin's my only character that could be said is actually "pretty," but I think that's because he's made of shiny rock.

I came into this thread later than I had intended. Just wanted to debunk that we non-comms are "always" pretty.

Sometime, just for fun, I'm gonna make an alt who's race is completely wrong for his guild. A Tae'dae mage or an Orclach bard or something.

I play a male Kephera bard. Terrible decision for combat (except when Acrobatics is involved), but fun for the RPz. happy.gif Just sucks that after an hour of bashing at his low level, I lose almost all of my willpower. sad.gif

@Rostov: Cacophony, Geomancers, Nihilists. Cacophony would be best imo. High charisma is win for Bards.

I know how that is. That used to happen all the time as a faeling monk.

So, I'm new to this game aswell, extremely new. I'm an IRE Vet but this place is pretty different. Anyways, I'm playing a Faeling Monk at the moment, I like my 20-22 dexterity, but for PvE is there a better choice racially? I like the lvl 3 balance recovery and the potion sipping, stacks nicely with Harmony and all that, I've had a few people tell me Lobo is good and Aslaran, any comments?

I started out as an Aslaran and still am. Aslaran are a good choice for monk/knight because of their dexterity as well as the tolerable strength. Especially so at Demigod (I usually have 18 strength/19 dexterity).

Aslaran, though, are a bit squishy, which does hurt.

Loboshigaru are good for bashing due to the constitution and health regen.

Depending on your circle (if you're 85+), I'd go aslaran. You have trans resilience, which helps with the squishiness. I'd put some in environment (attune is great).

Another option is illithoid. Aslaran is faster than illithoid despite the +15 weapon stats on jakari, but you get very awesome tankiness.

We like faelings in the Cacophony!

I agree with Sahmiam, Aslarans are very good, my bashing is better than when I used to be a warrior because I kill things faster. With a few buffs, I have almost the same health as my unbuffed Taurian. Fire hurts like hell though.

And I don't think he can go illithoid, he said he liked the regen from Harmony, he's in one of the kephera monk guilds. But if you want to join the Glom/Mag monk guilds, Illithoids are a very good choice, especially with the bonuses to your weapon of choice. A lot of health too, that will keep you from dying often at low circles.

Also, keep in mind that "balanced" is not the same as "equal". There are ups and downs to every race.

Does demi regeneration stack with loboshigaru? Or are they they in the same category of health regen, hence you max out at level 3? If the later is the case, I might go aslaran when I hit demi.

5.1.1 Regeneration of Health: Notes
Health regeneration - "How quickly does your health rise when you are damaged?"

WHAT ALWAYS AFFECTS HEALTH REGENERATION
---------------------------------------
enchanted items with mercy charges
boost and regeneration abilities

WHAT AFFECTS HEALTH REGENERATION WITHIN LIMITS
----------------------------------------------

Racial bonus to health regen: 1-3 levels
Mercy enchantment: 1 level

The total of levels that will affect health regen is 3. Having a total of
levels beyond 3 is allowed, but will not increase health regeneration
rates.

You would still benefit from lobo regen as a demi.

That statement isnt true. Some races have no real downsides, while others are so terrible they border unusable.

For instance... when was the last time anyone saw I decently high tier Orclach? Hyrtakos maybe? Taurian seems pretty unloved too.

And no one will generally go mugwump anymore (merian is used cause of flavour but is comparably bad).

I'm orclach like, half the time. Its fun to make big PB weapon probe numbers, and they're really really nice for bashing. Not a good idea for combat because mana kills are sorta out of control, but other than that, the only issue is the not-so-great-dex.
Veyrzhul2010-07-17 21:57:51
I was orclach too, while I was a pb. Being a demi and having the +1 int from drawdown help with the mana problem. The fire weakness can be an issue with all the ascendant casters around, but otherwise, it's a nice race, actually.
