With ~1,000 lessons Discipline, I regenerate Willpower somewhat faster than CharismaticAura can drain it, with no defenses and not doing anything else (i.e., standing around in the Aetherplex).
At some point I will go influence a few stacks of guards with all the usual influencing-related defenses and abilities activated, and measure how much Willpower I've lost over X number of minutes.
Hmm... while CharismaticAura doesn't cost anything to turn on and off, if you switch it on and off very frequently, perhaps its tick occurs more frequently than usual. Maybe switching it on and off is hurting you rather than helping?

Nah, doubt that's it. I turn it on as I start influencing and turn it off when there's nothing more in the room to influence. If it does factor in, I doubt it would make that much of a difference. And I'm also very sure I didn't have any defenses that drained willpower during that time.

Nifty advice, but not good for someone with little lessons. If you want the most lesson efficent boost to influencing, then you should ignore beastmastery, dramatics and discipline for a long time. Discipline is only useful for easing the willpower drain, which you only get from dramatics performance and charismaticaura. Dramatics boost is minor, and bully should be the only you get. Maaaaybe sycophant. But influence is the most important skill.
However, I would suggest against learning Charm. There are very few seductive denizens, so unless you're gonna focus on that a great deal on influencing, I'd suggest focusing on what you think is fun.
My suggestion though, is to get Netzach in Highmagic. Gives you a +1 to charisma and it is not very far in. Charisma is GREAT for influencing. Each point tends to shave of at LEAST one "attack". Get that, and some oils. Sandalwood for charity and dragonsblood for empowerment.
Now, I am not a warrior, but from what I've heard, Tracking is a fun, but weak skill. Several abilities are mimics of the environment skill. However, it is great for questing.
Questing is a great way to earn gold. Right now, you're probably a bit weak, but eventually, the undervault quests have a decent payout. Orcs do as well, and village quests.
Aetherhunting is great for quick experience. Not at your level though. You're far better of influencing and hunting. Especially for gold. Knights are unfortuantely very expensive to play, both in lesson investment and gold.
Anyway, welcome. Hope you have fun.

I've seen level 10s gain 13 levels on an aetherhunt. But it's crappy for gold, yeah. And for teaching you anything at all besides how to write a trigger, really.

Which is the better choice for a warrior? High or low magic?
Razenth2010-06-07 22:33:53
High. But I'm biased.
Arath2010-06-07 22:51:59
Why?
Razenth2010-06-07 22:56:50
Yesod, Geburah, and GreatPent.

Low has Yellow, Autumn and Serpent. Though, Xiel's website is a big help.

Warriors should be naturally tanky and shouldn't have to worry about damage kills, endgame you won't need experience boosts becaue there's more than enough of those things out there. Serpent is fun, but much more useful to someone with instant kills. And can mask attacks.
