Not according to guild rank. I guess you could run it that way if you really wanted to, though.

CODE
8.4.2 OFFICE OF GUILD ADMINISTRATOR

Arguably the most powerful position in the guild itself, though least
glamorous, the Guild Administrator runs the day-to-day operations of the
guild, oversees the bank account, and the training of novices. Unlike the
Guildmaster who functions to integrate the guild into the city or
commune's political process, the Guild Administrator is much more focused
on the guild itself.

The Guild Administrator appoints the Undersecretaries of the guild, as well
as appoint guild archivists who can maintain the guild's organizational works.

Sounds like more than Head of Novices to me. But yes, each guild runs things a certain way.

We the Serenguard recognize the authority of the Warden of the Moonhart,
the Treeguard, and the Hands of the Serenwilde in matters of the defense
of the Serenwilde and her allies; the authority of the High Chief of the
Serenguard Lodge, the Lodge Chiefs, and the Lodge Keepers in matters of
tradition and administration; and the authority of the Great Chieftain
of the Seren with all of the Chieftain's Circle in matters of law and
judgement.

That's how we have it split up.

I'm guessing it can't be helped in the Shadowdancers. The GM is called The King/Queen of the Night after all, while the GA and GC get Prince/Princess Titles.
Xavius2010-06-14 07:38:22
He who maintains the GHELPs runs the guild.

Besides, from a strictly mechanical standpoint, GC has the highest guild rank, and no one trusts them to run things more enduring than a raid.

Titles for the various roles aside, this how I view the organization of guild leadership:

In what sense? They look to be precisely equal to me.

I think most of the GM>all preconception comes from other IRE games.

In the sense they get all the power and don't have to do anything. ninja.gif

wub.gif Mieari.

Object lesson in GMing.

That said, part of being GM for the knight guild of a new org is feeling guiltily obligated to spend the first hour of your log in time forging stuff.

Mechanically, GA is rank 20, GM is rank 21, GC is rank 22 (if memory serves).

At one stage that meant that the GC could guild status the other leaders. I'm not sure whether that is still the case. It's not a particularly relevant piece of trivia - but it has the occasional application in progs.. and presumably in code..

No, we can't check other guild leaders. Though Guild Lastlogin would be useful for leaders.

Well, if you're GA you wouldn't be able to because (mechanically) they outrank you..
Ileein2010-06-14 14:45:21
Well, that's silly. GA is the one who would most need to lastlogin people, anyway.

Doesn't change that Lastlogin would be useful to be able to check on guild leaders. losewings.gif

Oh dear. Look what I started...

@Ongaku: It's okay, you frickin' thread stealer. I won't complain because your avatar makes me squeal.

@Everyone else: Everything you all have said is what I thought in the first place (~GA > GM, etc.) The reason it was an issue was because the GA told me to speak with the GM.

Regardless, it's all sorted out, and I'm a happy, happy little boy.
Lendren2010-06-14 16:00:25
None of the three leaders can lastlogin each other, but the GA's ledger reveals the lastlogin of the other two.
Aramel2010-06-14 16:24:22
The GA ledger is an awesome and very useful thing.
