Xion already has an air/fire crystal, have since Gaudiguch and Hallifax returned.

There are more epic quests planned, which we may get to, someday.

If the Admin are anything like my mom used to be, they're adding a day for everytime someone asks that question... laugh.gif

Or if they're like my high school English teacher, they're adding a month. I STILL haven't got that test back and I'm in my third year of college.

The epic quests are fairly awesome, and regular questing can't help but feel ordinary after pulling one of them off. Not so much the persevering for five days, but the grand deeds you accomplish, the interwoven and very nicely told storylines, and the feeling of bettering your city. I really liked Hallifax's. The bixes are a nice reward, and felt deserved after a solid week of empowering generators, but they are not the only appeal of the quests.

Oh dear god it'll probably kill me doing that...

But I'll do it anyway tongue.gif

The fire/air crystals don't do anything yet. sad.gif No Xion Initiative for us. (Not that the political situation would allow it, anyway.)

That's because the fire and air crystals are in harmony. Fire and Air, as elemental planes, are not in conflict - they exist exactly as they did during Xyl's days. It wasn't until the Taint that the engines of Xion began to have issues, because the Earth crystal began attempting to subjugating the Water crystal (since fire/air were absent).

Fire and Air just chill and wait for the other two crystals to sort their crap, so they can get the engines back online.

Edit: And Epic Quests are a lot of work. Maybe after we finish the endgame review and divine cults? It's Estarra's call!

I wish it was just five days of work. Serenwilde (and I assume Glomdoring) are 6 2/3 if you manage to do it every 32 hours without being interrupted by work or sleep or someone else doing. I'm really starting to think that a harder quest, without the time restriction, would be preferable.
Unknown2010-06-15 01:31:09
Halli's requires about an hour's work repeated six times, repeated five times. So you can do it in five solid days, unless you're interrupted, or have a life, or that type of thing. Of course, you don't have to do it alone, nor do you have to achieve each honour in such close succession.

To be clear, I don't consider the prerequisite quests a necessary part of any epic quest. I think they are there to justify the substantial reward of an orgbix. I consider an "epic quest" to be a grand story told through a succession of honours quests, rather than the specific format demonstrated in the city and commune epic quests.

Hooo no. Serenwilde and Glomdoring have it easiest by far. Unless you get people to help you, or give up all semblance of having a life, the epic quest of the cities take far longer than that of the forests, followed by longer and more difficult quests than Hifarae and Moon bubble. What I want is that we could more accurately predict when there's a full moon and a new moon.
Esano2010-06-15 10:46:30
You can perfectly predict when there's going to be a full or new moon - I know Glomdoring has a public project doing so, and I have a nifty little program that does so for me.

EDIT:Silly me for not noticing Eventru's post on air/fire thingamabobers. Back to the drawing board for possible guardian release events.

I was hoping without a project, such as an addition to Stargazing in environment, but that's pretty nifty.
Siam2010-06-15 11:57:13
There was a thread somewhere that ended up pushing for the mooncycle change. I support it as well!
Unknown2010-06-15 13:08:24
It's 16 days (hours) from a Full Moon to a New Moon. Full Moon (1 day) - Waning Gibbous (7) - Last Quarter (1) - Waning Crescent (7) - New Moon (1) - Waxing Crescent (7) - First Quarter (1) - Waxing Gibbous (1) - Full Moon.
Kiradawea2010-06-15 13:11:26
I know that. But in the middle of any cresents or gibbous, I have no idea how long it is until any of the four quarters without something like those projects.

I've never done the city versions, but every person I know who has alts in both Serenwilde and a city says the city version is far easier. Huzzah for anecdotal evidence!
Ssaliss2010-06-15 15:59:37
Yeah. The biggest problem with Glom (and Seren, I'd imagine) is that you have a half-hour window every 32 hours to complete the quest. Sure, you can prepare it beforehand, but if the preparations don't go as fast as they should or you just can't get that last item, then you're pretty much boned.
