New Guilds: Illuminati and Institute

by Estarra

Back to Common Grounds.

We almost didn't make the June deadline, but we really pressed through to get these guilds out (probably to the detriment of some other projects but oh well!). The reason may become clear as these skillsets are completely different from anything we've seen before. Hope you enjoy!

Could we be advanced out of novicehood?

I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I love that we finally have the guild but it sucks majorly to be stuck as a novice in a brand new guild and unable to learn our skills.

That being, yay Illus, boo novicehood.

Nope, only founders. You'll have to wait until they elect guild leaders.

You could just as easily advance us to GR1, and we'd be unable to do anything in regards to the election. This is silly.

Or at least give some founders undersec priveleges to promote those people who obviously aren't novices.

The alternative was making it so ONLY founders would be members of the guild, until leadership was established.

Maybe we should have stuck with that, as we did with guilds past.

Zomg these are amazing thank you!!! wub.gif

I really like the flavor of illus, from what I've seen. Yay!

I don't see why that has to be the only alternative. Why not just scrap the whole limited founders idea and just let everyone who has played for 75 hours or something be one?

That may have been preferable and I'm sorry I have to complain, I really am. This is very frustrating, nothing is being said ICly as well so we have no idea what is going on.
Eventru2010-06-26 22:27:27
Alright. Well, lesson learned, I suppose.

I'm sorry you all have to wait ten hours to use your guild skills, instead of 48 or so. I'm fairly certain in the future we won't make that mistake again, heh.
Anisu2010-06-26 22:27:27
Thank you for the fun event (even though I do not care about guardians!). It has made me neglect work though so please lend me one of those emphs to do my paper work pleaaaase.

The big issue for Halli is, I think that there are only three founders and they do not get to vote on who they are. That is what I'm hearing anyway.
Eventru2010-06-26 22:31:29
The founders are picked by the administration. Each guild gets 10. Those in charge of the Institute might be taking a bit more of a precautious approach, versus the Illuminati's.

I'm sorry only three were picked off the bat - the novice time is only 10 hours though, so hopefully it won't be utterly unbearable.

Why does it have to be 10, though?
Furien2010-06-26 22:35:28
Mechanically, nobody's in the position to change that even if they wanted to. I don't think they can just go in and hax it up for everyone.
ongaku2010-06-26 22:35:33
My chances of being a founder are slim, but I'm glad to have been brought into the guild at least. smile.gif Just antsy to use those sweet sweet credits (and possibly purchase a lesson package >.>).

Because I'm triskaidekaphobic.
Unknown2010-06-26 22:36:10
We didn't even get to 10 founders with the Templars. blackeye.gif

Also, Xiels, hurry up and put the new stuff on your site, slowpoke!

I mean, gawd.
Estarra2010-06-26 22:38:03
You'll have to bear with us and allow us to open the guilds slowly as we're doing now. There were complaints before that we were rushed the opening of previous guilds which allowed for certain factions to game who became guild leaders or there were complaints of too many young/unworthy/fillintheblank members. Thus, the admin will select the founders over the next 12 hours or so (sorry no voting who's a founder or arbitrary playing time requirements--no, it's not fair), then they'll elect leaders among themselves over an expedited election, then they can run the guild as they want and we'll open the guild publicly (probably on monday).
