Sojiro:

Shroud of Atropos - Hides the user's kills from deathsense.

What would this possibly accomplish besides making it easier to get away with killing somebody, and harder for that person to possibly get a rez. Big no to griefing artifacts.

Sojiro:

Doctoral Sash - Allows the user to change classes (within the same org only) while remaining in the same guild, allows them to change class once every IC month.

I think this would screw around with guild RP waaaaay too much, no thanks.

RE Shroud: Well, it's not hard to go CT help, but I understand the concern. What if it made the killer unknown, or just gave a random name?

I just want to be able to meld without actually joining a melder guild, let it happen please :(
Lehki2012-03-28 06:35:04
I just can't think of a reason why somebody would want to hide their kills besides an attempt at being a sneaky griefer, that's what bothers me.

And what is wrong with joining a melder guild! D:<

Nothing, I just don't want to leave the OP train, I just wanted to make a quick stop at Melder Station though!

Please no to e-peen stroking deathmessages, removing yourself from deathsight (except maybe your deaths, rather than your kills), or the can of worms that is multiple classes in a guild.

That said, I wouldn't be against an artie that lets you pick one from amongst a list of already written deathsight messages (similar to choicezap, choiceenter, etc). Hell that might even be a cool demigod power if the messages were domoth aligned, but this is the wrong thread for that and I'm too lazy to find the demigod one.

I just don't think there's not much difference in epeen stroking hidden honours, epeen stroking custom weapons/jewelry/etc epeen stroking shouts vs. this.

But your mileage may vary, I guess.
Enyalida2012-03-28 17:26:04
It lets you jump people in a territory without warning people that something is up. For instance, if you jump someone this way on Moon bubble, their tells and aethers can't reach prime, and no one will think to come up and get their body, because no one ever goes there. You can be well on your merry way FAR before they go through the rigamarole of praying to raise alarm.

You will notice that there are people who already have issue with all of those things you just listed! We don't want even more.

On the contrary I think more ways to make more players unique enhances the game. They don't even hurt anything but your personal sensibilities
Turnus2012-03-28 18:39:58
Its a general rule that players will be as obnoxious as they think they can get away with. A customdeathsight is pretty much shoving it down everybody's throats. I would be fine with a choicedeathmessage option, but custom is pretty meh (even with admin approval as people will keep pushing into more and more obnoxious, and it just takes one bad approval to set an annoying precedence).

The reason I dislike hiding your kills is as already mentioned, makes sneaking in/out of areas to kill and run way too easy.

Hiding when -you- die at least preserves that vanity of being invisible, so I can still see people buying it and that doesn't bother me really.

How about an artifact that allows you to change how you say your motto or warcry, but subject to divine approval.

Or if there was an auction, auction off a chance to have a carriage, instead of your normal mount O.o.

There's a random thought. I wonder how much an esteem generating fountain would go for. With the popularity of shrines today (as ever), I'm curious to know if it'd be a hot item.

Rate for generation is up for debate, but let's say...300 a Lusternian month, maybe.

Its been said before I know. But a skill to look through rifts and see the roomname it exits into without transversing would be nice.
Enyalida2012-03-29 02:44:35
A skill, a skill - Turnus! Wrong place! (This is something that really should be absolutely common, let's not make it an artifact, please.)
Ytran2012-03-29 02:45:51
That's already part of the demigod report, iirc, unless Shuyin took it out at the last minute or something.
Turnus2012-03-29 03:05:25
There's no thread for new skills! If there was I would totally put it there.

Just in case it's not been derailed enough, but I could've sworn you can survey and see where a rift leads to. Though you can't look through the rift, seeing the room name helps approximations! -twiddle-

And as for more artifacts....uhhh....hmm.

Some package that combines custom demi perks with normally uncustomizable demiflavour powers. Subject to admin approval for proper flavour use, of course, but I think it'd be nice to have a thematic set of custom zap/shout/enter/exit/teleport/room look. Since it'd be an auction thing, admin won't have to review such things so often, and matching stuff is always enjoyable.

There is an active planar gate here with the following pathways:
A pathway to the Prime Material Plane

Knowing it goes to Prime doesn't really help as much as you might think :(

How about an artifact that lets a manse owner map their manse so people can use the MAP command to find their way around it?
