Xenthos:
A gnomish plotting board (like a sonar / radar board); when turned on, it pings and shows you the location of someone who's just died (basically, Deathsense enchantment, but with a gnomish dingbat twist and accompanying message!)
Noo! Sad ghost!
EDIT: shyeah, I was coming over here to post it, and then you had, so I did that, and then I went back, and you said you were posting my thing here, so I came back here, and now it's here too. vvvv

Phoebus:
can it be a little ghost that follows you around and whispers sadly to you when someone dies? :>
Xenthos2012-05-29 22:17:36
(Because I'm fine with that idea too!)
Lawliet2012-05-30 08:35:13
I was gonna go with what I originally misread your post as saying, "A gnomish plotting beard.", a fake beard that you wear that detects when someone dies, causing you to stroke it as it laughs in an evil way, telling you who died. But the sad ghost idea is good, too.

Oh no. Now that need to exist.

Name: Training Dojo/Sparring Hall
Cost: Unknown, could cost credits or dingbats.
Type: Manse Room (requires an active manse)
Purpose: Creates a new room in the manse (activate by ACTIVATE DOJO (dir) ) in which one can set up a CHALLENGE, at which time PVP will be permitted in the room and will not result in a death penalty for the loser. Basically it's like a mini arena where 2 or more people can spar/fight/test stuff without tying up the arena. Upon death, the loser will be ejected from the room. Also so that they can not be used as a punching bag, leading someone in will not be permitted, they must enter of their own free will. (use of emperor tarot/etc will not work). Wins/Kills would NOT count towards PVP achievements. Possibly for an added fee a custom death emote for losing in that hall/dojo could be added.

Can someone tumble out of the room? If not, that really messes things up for/against certain classes.

This idea is even more complicated than stated. Just use the arenas. That's why we have them! :P
Morshoth2012-06-06 18:28:57
Or just make an arti that can turn an entire manse into an arena, which you can do all the arena stuff in (maybe have other artis for slippers, etc. but just have freeforall and wargames at first). Any who are in the arena at the time are given a warning that the event is about to start, and have a standard wait time until they can leave. When games start, make PORTAL EXIT not work. Death will send you back to the Aetherplex. Can't enter the manse while games are going either. Also, make it to where you can't activate it if there is already a shop in your manse (or perhaps any other artis at all)

An artifact that lets you select someone that you want nothing to do with again and effectively erases that person from their perception, they no longer appear in the persons who/CW/GW list, they can not be talked to or talk to the person, they are effectively wiped from that persons existance.
Why don't you just snub them?

Or ignore them in character?

A bottle of concentrated kafe/gnomish stomach pump. Instantly sobers you up once/month but stuns you for 30s or incurable epilepsy for 5 mins. Something harsh so it's not too combat friendly and doesn't tread on the auction chalice's toes.

because he is totally incapable of seperating ooc from ic and LITERALLY can not stop himself from unsnubbing and harassing someone.. Get help kid.

Did you learn nothing from "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"? You would just end up meeting that person again, falling in love*, and hating them all over again. After all is said and done you will end up hating your arti and suing IRE for the return of your credits.
*If it's not a lover than replace love with like.

For the merchant's ledger, I'd be much more interested in it if it wasn't just LEDGER but also LEDGER , so that you could see all of the prices of, say, marble, across the basin.
Shulamit2012-06-28 06:46:04
I agree with that! I would make comparing things so much easier.
Lendren2012-06-28 15:06:45
I actually coded a client-side way to do that before I even owned a ledger, it's so essential.

I would sell a kidney to buy an artie that was a permanant version of the item created by the most recent org construct.
You don't have to worry about it decaying or finding a way to the bubble it's on. Good stuff!
Or if you live in an org that can't win an aether flare to save it's life. (and i fully intend to start killing people as a form of motivation)
But mostly for convenience. Yes, convenience. That's it.
Edit:
You couuld even make it 1k credits!

Yeah, what other org construct benefit would anyone be willing to pay 1000 credits for? :P
Please balance org constructs through something other than rampant "deny bubbles to the enemy"!
