Per the latest announce, the dingbat promotion is continuing for another month! We're going to try and release some more dingie items this coming weekend, so if you have more ideas, post them here!

If you're going to release more dingbats, will you consider asking IRE to change the way the dingbats appear? It really is non-sensical that you have to create alts to get more dingbats if you want to pay OOC cash.
Not that this affects me at the moment, but still.

I've asked several times, but this is how they want it to run. Feel free to email IRE directly though!

It would sure be nice if a changeling could remember the language he spoke fluently yesterday, though.
Actually this could be a fun mechanic. Make it so that upon racechange you keep your previous language, then every month you get a cumulative percentage chance of failing to understand something said in that language, until it's 100% and you lose it.

I would like a bell that announces when a person enters a room shrouded! Seriously, I don't know how many times I've been in public, or my aethermanse, and someone has come in unannounced (Thideye fails for this). These are people I'd normally be happy to see, but sometimes you just don't want someone to walk in on you!
Entrance Bell - 50 credits (25 if you can't carry them around.)
Announces every time a person enters the room, this includes shrouded people!
I don't think it should cost more than this, because thirdeye should draw attention to those who enter the room, but it doesn't.

I don't like this, because it can affect combat. Cloaking your movements either helps escape (because your opponent doesn't know where you went. Can be -very- important) or gives you first-strike capability because they don't see you enter. If this were a static manse artifact, then I could support it, but otherwise, no.

Mainly would like to see it as a manse artifact, aye. Maybe also something you could put up in the city.
Lendren2009-09-01 20:18:47
I doubt they'd do that, but if a) it were a permanent manse artifact, and b) it only announced that someone entered or exited, but not whom, they might be more likely to do it.
I had proposed a similar effect as an artisan craft once. But since Estarra still thinks it's fair that only 1/4th of the nations can have a chandelier at their nexus, I doubt something like this will ever fly, given how much more common shrouding is than dreamweaving.

Well to be fair, Glomdoring gets people with the facepaint that can sense dreamweavers entering the room, so it's really half the orgs have dreamweaver-sensing capabilities. Although, I guess it -is- odd that the Megalith is the only indoor nexus...

The simpler solution is to allow an outdoor version of chandeliers (wind chimes) the same way we have outdoor versions of other artisan crafts. Wouldn't even take any new coding. Estarra doesn't like it because we'd have a thousand chandeliers everywhere, she said. Which isn't true: 99% of outdoor rooms aren't furnishable anyway. And given what they cost, there'd be precisely three wind chimes made in the whole game, I expect. I think she just refuses to think it through.

The BT uses to have a Chandelier in our public area of our guild hall. (given it was 'inside' the Ravenwood, still)

I know they'll never, ever, ever, ever make it, but I'd sure pay for an artifact that makes my ancestral watchers last through a dozen uses instead of vanishing on a single one, just to save having to keep going back and replacing them every five minutes.

You know rogues have no real place in Lusternia, right? In other words, not gonna happen.
Lendren2009-09-05 13:13:28
I wonder what people would think of something like a pyramid puzzle but which lost its settings on the 13th instead of the 1st, so you could use one of those to rerecord the saved points in the regular kind more easily.

Anything has a place, in Lusternia if enough people ask for it.

Not necessarily, but it almost never hurts to ask.
