I still want my Stake of Guarding Permanently makes a room be under Nature Guard. One-time-use, of course.

That'd be better as a, say, minister of trade ability, and only extend to the villages under their cities/communes control.
Would certainly make more sense.

I agree with this.

Ew on syntax limitations. If people want to shell out 350cr for a price checking artie, I don't see why limit them from seeing the shoplog as well.

I would like an artifact container that transports things into my inventory when they're placed inside. I could give the container to others to keep for a while, and they could send me stuff just by dropping it in.

A dirigible?
Or, alternately, two dirigibles, so you can give one dirigible to the other to deliver to somebody?
Lendren2010-04-10 18:02:08
Indeed, after I got the delivery option for Giallyn (it didn't exist at the time -- I custom-requested it, and when it was done, Estarra said she'd make it available to everyone else, and thus eventually the dirigible), the next customization I did was a pickup option. Though Iasmos's idea for how it would work is in a way more flexible than mine. (I can tell Giallyn to go to someone. And if anyone but me gives her something, I sense it, and ten seconds later she flies back to me. The ten seconds lets you give her a bunch of things in one trip.)
Sylphas2010-04-10 18:49:29
I thought that was mostly just neat flavor until we started this endless UV grind, at which point absolutely any regrets about buying a puzzle vanished and I began to crave a dirigible with a fierce passion.
Unknown2010-04-10 21:45:51
Yeah, I have a pet with the delivery option, too. I didn't get the pickup option yet, but in thinking about it recently, I decided it would be cool to have a transdimensional portal container instead.
Lendren2010-04-11 02:28:49
The way my pickup option works didn't strike Estarra as being as interesting, so she didn't make it generally available the way she did with delivery. But I'm sure you could still get it for the same price. (Don't ask me what that price was, this was ages ago.)

Oh. She didn't tell me she was making it generally available!
Lendren2010-04-16 12:15:50
I may be the only one who'd care about this (very probably), but an artifact that allowed two sets of splendours for us bigendered-and-fashion-conscious people would be great.
Okay, feel free to treat that as a joke.

Hey, I feel your pain. All of the public splendours are either themed for a specific org, like the nightmarish ones, or are rather feminine. And coming out of me, that's saying something.
With the advent of Skillflex, however, how about an artifact that lets you see designs you could have seen if you were a tradeskill you are not currently.
ie:
Trader Bob is an Omnitrans forger/artist/tailor/lorecrafter/artisan/cook/bookbinder/jeweler/brewmeister/etc., so he could see any design from any cartel he's a part of with this artifact.
Jeremiah, not so lucky, he's only a brewmeister/cook/lorecrafter at trans, and his bookbinding and Jewelry are only Master each. With this artifact, he could check on any brewmeister/cook/lorecrafter recipes for any cartels he's in, and check bookbinding and jewelry patterns up to sorcelglass and necklaces respectively, but not, say, compendiums, wands, brooches or crowns.
Neither man could actually create any of the items in question unless he had that skillset active, but this way if Jeremiah wants to see what pies he can cook for a customer while he's busy cutting gems, he can do so without spending 100 lessons.

This can already be done through the CARTEL command, regardless of whether or not you have the tradeskill.

Though, it also can't be used for org-cartels or public design searching, which is where a lot of designs sit.
If the admins would just allow people to use the CARTEL command to see public listings (publicforging, publictailoring, etc.) and cartels belonging to their commune/city, that'd be spiffy.

Some of us like sneaking into villages to buy comms, since every single org is hostile. Someone would just buy a shoplog and enemy everyone that shopped in an village that they didn't know, and that'd just unbalanced.
Xiel2010-04-17 03:07:58
It's balanced that people need 350cr to keep track of a village who swears their loyalty to an org?

Can't see current submissions with the CARTEL command for orgs, no, but the catalogue works for the org cartels. Just wish it worked on the public catalogue too.

An artifact (possibly dingbat) that lets you sense psionic activity in the room. Some kind of headgear!
Veyrzhul2010-04-17 12:32:57
Being able to have two sets of splendours would be quite an upgrade to them, since you could get one set specialized on cutting and another for blunt damage.
