Harvesting gloves make it faster, but they do not increase the chances you get something extra. It helps if you compare apples to apples, though.

Yeah, cause mallets and gloves don't already do that?
Most trade artifacts double output, either by making it faster or making you produce more. The hammer already lets you cut more, so speeding it up as well would potentially quadruple output.
Sakr2010-06-28 19:27:35
not entirely. 2k gems are to be cut. average time is around 3 hours, or 3 days if you'd like. If it were to be 1.5 days, that would be amazing, even 2 hours, 2 days.
edit: and as per output, it wouldn't matter if you are thinking about going to get more and cutting them. usually i keep some extra gems on a friend for when i run out.

I'll take making the pantograph let me deconstruct, or repair, or reduce comms use. Anything. Please. If they made it so I didn't have to lose balance when making and working keys, that alone would triple its usefulness.

Looking for ideas for non-dingbat artifacts.
I know we have said in the past that we wouldn't have stat items but that was before buff and DMP modifications (see HELP BUFFS and HELP DMP). Do you think that has changed things enough that we should consider allowing artifacts that give, for example, a +1 buff to a stat or even a +10 DMP? Not sure I think so but just thought I'd canvas opinions.

I still want my Stake of Preservation (or some such) Permanent Nature Guard in a room.
Especially with the recent strings of stripharvestings in the Astral plane...

A deaging/ageing wand? I'm not so good at the, design artifacts thing...
It should have like, clockwork moving parts and stuff, and chimes on it!
I'll...think of more later.

Please don't.
Ideas will be forthcoming... soonish.

Oh, and the portable greenhouses for storage of herbs to be able to replant. Wouldn't grow them, just keep them replantable indefinitely (basically you'd plant a herb in the greenhouse and then harvest it from there again when needed).

No thanks, I'm quite happy that people can't buy stats.

Hrm, I assume you mean something similar to Aeonics aging but being that the only way to reverse it would be by the artifact, I'm not sure I am too keen on that. If you mean that duplicates Aeonics aging, I'd rather not.
However, an artifact that allows the owner to manipulate his or her own age from 13 to 300... would anyone buy something like that?

Here's one idea:
Vesteran Box of Miraculous Glamour
Functions like the cloak of shifting hues and gloves of concealment in that it hides everything you wear, but adds an additional function: allowing you to write a glamour of what you are wearing. By using ETCH BOX WITH You will set your wear desc to whatever you like, much in the same way you set your current character description. OPEN BOX will put up the glamour and hide what you're actually wearing, and CLOSE BOX will remove it and reveal what you're actually wearing.

I meant for their own age, but the aeonics ageing was the only thing I knew that did that, so yeah, sort...what I meant.
I'm going back to designing books *hide*

Maybe an artifact with an effect like fortuna? Gives the plus stats, but its random and can't be massively stacked up to a huge advantage.
Edit: I would also love an artifact that lets you make a new bloodbond - eg lets you form a new family (or get adopted into an existing one) by completely severing the old one. Doesn't seem out of place with aging, genderbending, and race changing abilities.
Xiel2010-07-06 22:47:50
Please, please do NOT put in statistic artifacts. I'll write up some ideas of my own (and Raggy's is neat), but no on the +stat or +DMP artifacts, please.

Please no.. some of us have a lot of fun RP with age and being an old crotchety gramps. That would ruin it entirely and devalue the entire respect and history nuances of the older generations.

As a compromise, how about a one-time use thing that will lock your age where it currently is, and can be broken whenever you want? That might be interesting.

Although your character's age will increase by one year every Lusternian year,
this is largely just a method by which you may judge how long ago a character
was born. Age has no negative effects whatsoever, either on your character's
health or appearance. Some people choose to RP getting older and use their age
as a sign of that, this is acceptable as well. Just another example of why life
in Lusternia is better than so-called "real life"!
