And then we have this lovely Gem of Planar Unbonding for you. For only 100cr more than the first gem, it'll make the first gem go away.
I like this idea. We'll also remove the loyalsays config option!

Why the one-time use restriction? How do you turn off the alerts if you're tired of hearing them? Allegiances change, people change guilds, and you might not want this any more...
I didn't say it wouldn't be toggle-able, same as gem of cloaking is or something I suppose.
And changing guilds was actually the point, if you change guilds/cities but don't want to feel like you're abandoning them (or your char doesn't) you can buy the gem and always look out for them.
Edit: Meant to specify that you could only bond to one extra plane at a time, not 'one use per gem and then it goes'

Miniature ocean - Fills a room with water. (Make your own aether sea!)
Sakr2010-07-31 23:32:12
aethermanse artifact
The Oracles
ASK ORACLES (PERSON) (gate)
And the oracles would tell you where that person is, but not the exact room. You can ask the oracles 1-3 questions a day. If the target is a mutual ally, a gateway can open between you two, allowing you to teleport to the target. Be wary though, as there is a chance you will be tossed into astral.

I may have missed this but:
Divine Vestments. * cred
-Eliminates org.-specific patron limits and affinity costs.
I dunno about you, but I wanna go non-Elostian without having to offer up a huge load of offerings every single month just to keep from costing the order lots'n'lotsa essence

The Bottomless Bucket - fill it once with something (water, blood, anything you can put in a bucket) and it stays filled with that until you fill it with something else. Allows you to douse fires in rooms without having to refill your bucket for each room or to pour blood on the ground without having to slaughter lots of animals.

I think this is part of what the dingbat umbrella was meant to do, along with removing skunking. And since I doubt the admins will allow for an unlimited supply of blood since they've gone through the trouble of removing most of the easy means of getting it... I'd just stick with that. Just saying!

I think that the artifact font of the gods should be able to be used at the command chair of an aethership to offer up the essence stored from aetherbashing. Not really a new artifact, but it'd incite more use out of the artifact and the essence gathering function of aetherbashing!

Or just fly to the godrealm?
Esano2010-08-04 00:43:05
City godrealms are on Cosmic, where there's no good bashing. You'd need a whistle to do it in anything like a reasonable time. Ethereal ones I suppose you could fuse to and back, but yeah, still a fair-sized interruption.
Xiel2010-08-04 02:16:24
Better to just not bother offering at all than disrupt a groove.

Shard of the (Megalith/Flame/Pool/Ravenwood/etc.)
EMBED SHARD
Hideously expensive aethership artifact for collectors that causes your power to be considered typed to that respective nexus's power type for the next day. Usable 5 times each month.
Because roguing should be possible, just far harder than being in an org.
Tome of Midnight (example)
LEARN <1-15> LESSONS FROM
Another hideously expensive artifact. Allows learning (of the Night totems spec in this case) without a tutor. Only the owner can read the enciphered pages and learn from the tome. Requires you already have selected said skill.
Same reasons as above.

Nevermind, I'm too tired to read.
Unknown2010-08-09 23:14:31
Being a rogue is already possible. It shouldn't be made into "I can still act as though I'm in the organization of my choice because I have artifacts," though. You're not just making rogue easier. You're redefining it.

There's profitable bashing up there, just ask the members of the order of the Forbidden. 'Course, then I got lazy.
On the other hand, they still don't quite have the level of convenience that the commune godrealms provide.
Unknown2010-08-09 23:23:09
I'm just saying that a rogue should be able to access all of their skills, rather than remaining a perpetual victim for those that -do- have access to all of their skills. As it stands, there's no variety. If you want to defend yourself as a rogue, you need to go tracker-warrior before going rogue. Otherwise you're fighting while missing fingers.
It's not redefining being rogue, it's giving rogues an equal chance, but making them work dozens of times harder for that chance than anyone in an org would have to.

Razenth2010-08-09 23:24:36
Lusternia was designed with the organizations and their interactions as the central theme. Rogues will never get what you desire because in doing so, it breaks the core ethos of the game. You want the freedom of being a rogue? Fine. But you must give up something in exchange. And citing an 'insanely expensive' artifact doesn't count.
Unknown2010-08-09 23:32:17
Given that the OOC cliques that control the various orgs have a massive tendency to be insular to the point of xenophobia and drive players away from the game, I'd just rather see an option for such people than leaving. This method not only accomplishes that, but also helps support the game as a whole.
Edit: The initial proposal wasn't about making being a rogue -easier-, it was about making it -possible- to equal someone from an org through several magnitudes more effort than anyone from an org would ever have to invest. It should be far harder to live as a rogue, yes, but if should be possible for a rogue to stand toe to toe with their counterparts in orgs if they're willing to put in ten times the effort.

Super expensive artifacts are going to help player retention and supports the game? I would hate to see artifacts to fix a flaw in the game. Either the flaw is fix or its decided that it isn't a flaw and how things would work. Last thing we need is to tell people they need to pay to play a certain way.
