Is it the Killer Rabbit?

An artifact that allows you to record songs made by a bard. That way, you'd get the lyrics sung without the power infused in the words, wherever you go. Perfect for that picnic without the annoying third wheel.

And you can wind up this trinket, or have it play on repeat in your manse.
Has room for 5, 10 songs maybe?

EDIT: RECORD (SONG) AT BOX
PLAY SONG FROM BOX#
WIND BOX TRACK 1-10

Heck with an artifact, that's what musicboxes should do. That way there'd be a use for them. (More people buy watches to read the time than for the enchantments!)

You can enchant watches?! blink.gif

Yeah I know they are enchantable, but I've never bothered. Not only do the enchantments look 'meh', but I only care about the time part. tongue.gif

A ring of the Pied Piper

Works the same as a piper's horn enchantment or perfectfourth only it never runs out and does not use ego!
Lendren2010-09-10 11:49:01
Who would really pay credits for that?

This! I thought the exact same thing when I read the initial idea.

Alternatively, it could be an artifact rune that turns the musicbox into a recording box.

I wouldn't mind a rune that turns music boxes into actual music-playing boxes that would play waltz with ambient messages either. Or for the Tinker to be able to imbue a box with a choice tune.

Mysterious Menagerie - 150cr

A manse artifact that which, being filled with a number (say 500) of a non-sentient mob, spawned a single, stationary instance of said mob.

I would -love- to have an aetherzoo. Please? pray.gif

EDIT: Maybe have it respawn on the weave? Or make it non-killable and non-aggressive?

MARVELLOUS MAGNIFYING GLASS cr: ???

I know it's more of a builder's thing, but I think it would be neat to have...

A manse artifact that allows for the creation of a probe-able hidden detail/details in a room. IE- Generic Room Desc: A collection of teapots has been put on display for all to admire. P 'teapots' P 'collection' = These teapots are quite pretty...etc. You can't physically do anything else with them, but it adds a touch of interest.

No no, make it so you can put stuff in them and whatnot and make manse quests

HELP DWELLERS is probably what you're looking for.

I was thinking about that too, but wouldn't it be a burden to the system or whatnot if everyone started having questing areas in their manses? Much as I'd love to do a scavenger hunt in my own manse...

Thankfully there's another mud I play where I can unleash any building urges... where the endgame is to build your own area/planet complete with as many puzzles/quests as you like.

Hm, 200 dingbat item:

Gem Press

Take 3 gemstones and 1 powerstone (used, new, doesn't matter) and press them to form 1 gem commodity. Can be used 100x a month.
Jigan2010-09-18 17:36:34
Gem of the Fates

Removes certain HONOURS lines, such as being divorced, or quest lines you no longer want known in the case of switching orgs.

All those items work both ways, and it wouldn't be fair that every gem commodity could be guanranteed to give a powerstone.

Double post, but that one was three days ago, so meh.

Module shunter: Allows you to move a ship module one room, one use only.

Seeing as you can change the layout and design of the entire manse this would only be useful if you didn't want that module at the entrance anymore for whatever reason or if you had furniture/artifacts in place on that room and didn't want that module there anymore.

Could also be used to swap modules, maybe, so if there's already one there they swap position.

Edit: Should probably be a cheap one.

Aether Card (bad name I know.) Cost: 500 credits

- The front of the card can be peeled off and dropped in a location once a month. This piece of the card is sticky and cannot be moved from the area for the rest of that in-game month. It is also easily visible in LOOK or IH. Maybe even limit the number of cards that can be in this location, and prevent cards from being placed in a room with a monolith sigil.

- You keep the back part of the card and can use it to see into the room where the corresponding front part is when you SEE CARD. Much like if you were in the room and LOOKED.

-You can TRANSPORT CARD which allows you to instantly transport to where the front sticker was placed. The sticker explodes in a wonderful display of confetti and cannot be set for the rest of the month until it respawns into your inventory the next month.

* None of these abilities work on different planes.

Should be nice for people who maybe want to have a safe escape mechanism similar to spores.

Kissable Platinum Lips (Super-Kiss of the Fates): 60 credits
- One-time use only.
- Gives Double XP for 24 hours, time only counts down when logged in (similar to Karma Blessings).
- Stacks with all other XP bonuses and promotions.
- Syntax: KISS

For those of us who can't manage to be awake 24 hours in a row. Might need a better name / description / credit cost, this is just a general idea.

Part of the game has this, in Tarot. It's called Hermit.

And the pyramid puzzle replicates some of it already.
