What's the point of having two exactly mirrored shops? You'd make more, I would assume, from tailoring to the clientele of each.

Personally I've got two near-identical shops in both Glom and Halli, meaning I get both Glom and Halli customers for my goods. I've noticed a substantial increase to profits since I got my Halli shop, since Hallis rarely came to Glom to shop (one or two Hallis excluded). For two shops in the same city/commune or two aethershops though, yeah, there's probably not much use.

You'd still theoretically make more money by analyzing the shopping habits of Glomdoring vs Hallifax, but I see your point. Also, that takes a lot more effort for relatively minimal gain.

He's an alchemist. Needs won't be that odd.

Psh. Play the shopkeeper game! Contract out for things you can't provide by yourself, analyse shopping habits and patterns, compile a shopkeeper's almanac tracking seasonal fluctuations in demand, do all the fun merchanty stuff!

He basically has a monopoly on alchemic goods INSIDE of Hallifax. What else does he need to sell? tongue.gif

Anything else would likely just reduce profits because he has to pay someone else.
Ssaliss2010-12-09 13:16:53
Actually, I'm an herbalist. Which means I don't have to pay anyone for herbs, and alchemists aren't that expensive anyway tongue.gif

Well no wonder you don't sit around with a calculator, you're too busy herbing. tongue.gif

How about something that lets you see where smoke is, so you can find fires by some means other than walking to every room? I can't think of what the artifact form would be, because in real life spotting at least the general location of a forest fire is usually a matter of looking, listening, and smelling, and can be done from considerable distance once it's going. Patrolling each of about 200 rooms once every ten minutes or so is kind of tedious.

Could make it part of Wolf (and the dingbat snout), when you Scent.

Oh, not really a new artifact, but could the existing dice dingbat artifact be changed to either allow the rolling of one or both dice, or to allow you to specify how many dice you want within a slightly larger range then 2? (say 1-6 or so?)
You can currently play one dice games by rolling and ignoring one of the numbers, or multi-dice games by rolling and adding or ignoring certain numbers but it would be nice if this was not necessary. (It would be also awesome but unnecessary to have a multisided die that worked the same as normal variable die, but with variable faces instead of quantity.)

Another nice game type thing would be to have would be a normal pack of playing cards, that could be delt out to your specifications, including different hand numbers, facedowns, discard and 'hit' type actions, so we could play card games. This could be a mechanic like Fate, in that you drop the deck and invite everyone to play with you and join your game. You could slap betting on it, but that's like a blackjack table, and I'd rather have more open ended gaming potential IC then coded in betting.

Like this idea. Portable poker! With betting capabilities!

It would 10x as awesome if you could play poker and other games WITH your fate deck.

Blackjack:

"Oh, @#$%, I got the Bondshredder."

Customizable decks with difference images. Put individual cards in and out in order to have unique decks for each person. IE: Celest deck with angels and whatnot, and trade out the cherub 3 of diamonds for a crow shadow 3 of diamonds from a Glomdoring deck.

Gnomish Cloaking Device. Gives you the Changeself ability.

Faerie of the Gods:
Faerie that follows and at random intervals does cute single-line illusions; alternatively can SQUEEZE FAERIE (spelling) to produce a random multi-line illusion. (but only once IG per day/month)

A luminescent blue faerie emits a tinkle of bell-like sounds before interjecting, "Hey! Listen!"

Yes please suspicious.gif

I laughed at this so much (having completely forgotten about that).

Golden Tarot Deck - This deck of cards is inscribed with images from tarot decks made before the Vernal wars, and holds up to 2,200 cards of any image. Once per Lusternian year, you can ATTUNE DECK for one of the following effects. These effects all last until the end of the Lusternian year.
- MAGICIAN: By attuning to the image of Mugowumpois, inscribing your tarot cards will only consume half the willpower it once did.
- HERMIT: By attuning to the image of Aslarn, the balance loss for inscribing cards will be severely lessened.
- FOOL: By attuning to the image of Crumkane, inscribing cards will cost one less application per card, to a minimum of one.
- LOVERS: By attuning to the combined images of Loboshi and Volkh, your Empress card flings will now pull mutual allies to you from anywhere on the continent.

Something which gives the effect of NATURE GUARD.

EDIT: Anything, seriously.
