The same way as you can defend 1 cure/action a second.
Except you can move to cure that one.
Edit: Come to think of it, there is an odd fascination with uncurable afflictions lately.

I admit, he got you there. Hekoskeri by itself isn't that bad, but as with choke, as soon as it starts stacking with everything else is the (perceived/not tested) problem.

Well. Someone just choking you by itself isn't bad either. It should be assumed that if I'm making a comment on Hekoskeri, that I'm taking things like forced tumble, transfixion, badluck, and other factors into account.
EDIT: Oh, and I forgot about the three forms of Carcer.
Gregori2010-06-28 21:57:29
when hekoskeri was bugged and attacking everyone including myself, I was constantly being afflicted as I ran around. I never noticed it once, because moving doesn't take balance. By the same arguement you can move to 'cure' hekoskeri. It just requires you move further away so we can't capitalize on it. Running and turtling is not a new concept to IRE combat.

Who said it sucks to be Gaud when they came out?
The consensus was that aeonics was the better shake (at first). I know, because I was one of the primary people disseminating lines for it. We were kinda mopey, until we actually tested the stuff. Now it has a few strong abilities, a few meh ones, a few unwieldly ones (enthrall is a complete royal pain to use, to the point that, unless you're a tarot user, usually not worth the bother), and a few that simply need to be fixed.
But which are which? I'll find my own opinion after the guardian guilds kock the crap out of things a few times and people learn to fight them.

Except you ignored the fact that Illuminati have three forms of carcer.

Well, the problem with choking is that 9/10 it is never just being choked. Either it is someone else, or the passives from SDs. Hekoskeri lasts 30 seconds, and just walking away from an Illuminat, as has been stated, is a bad idea. Tumbling might even bypass it injecting you with its love juice. Passive transfix? Only if you can't put up blindness again before it attacks, and it isn't like this thing is hitting you ever 2 seconds, and I think badluck has already been covered but it could probably do with a bit of dragging once things get going. But you are assuming the worst for a situation that hasn't even happened yet. As far as you know, or anyone else, the entire skillset could be broken and it causes the Illuminati in question to explode into confetti

As I said, I reserve judgment on skix until I see it in groups. I didn't make any disparaging comment on it. I did comment on uncurable ectoplasm and the fact that Illuminati have three forms of Carcer.

Those three forms of Carcer being, Carcer, Enthrall and Flux. Wellll love potion fixes flux, enthrall rarely fires, so that leaves Carcer...did I miss anything?

You actually missed tentacle too. And things like beast block.

If you are referring to flux/enthrall both of those have such a low fire right that it's ridiculous. Outside testing parameters I have yet to get either of them to do anything useful and I use them all the time when in combat.

Tentacles hurts the owner when it is fired, and you could always gust them out of the room, seems to be a popular quickfix nowadays

P.S. I think the real culprit is the SLUDGEWORM. Really, passive cleanse cures man, CLEANSE.
I'm getting my solid gold pitchfork for that one.
P.P.S. I wonder if you can tentacle one exit, then beast block another. Good times.

I like pitchforks, and since when has being proned while running away been game breaking?

BUT ALIOD, (BARDS|ILLUMINATI) HAVE EXTRA SUMMON RESIST WHEN THEY USE (Pfifth|Mutations) AND WITH THE UPCOMING REPORT ON SUMMON RESISTS, GUSTING ISN'T A PRACTICAL OPTION.

Well judging by the talk of 'can't escape illuminatis ever', I imagine that an aff that prones you whenever you try to leave helps with that. On top of having to scrub mucous means you're not scrubbing ecto, or vice-versa. Plus cleanse is a long balance (sans soap).
Gregori2010-06-28 22:11:19
Again, as I said. I am sure skills will need adjusting. Let's just not rape the hypothetical fairy before we see what actually happens, though.
Unknown2010-06-28 22:12:08
That's fine with me, but since we're all theorycrafting, I got into it too. I love theorycrafting So much it hurts.
