Isn't it free power? How's that crappy? Is it just cause it doesn't kill people or something?

Because most power laws pretty much allow you to draw as much as you want provided you return the power. With four Elemental Planes, this isn't exactly an issue.

Also, aetherships. I draw from Mother maybe once a week. Collectors are so much simpler.

I think it's pretty crappy for a trans skill personally.
Can some kind soul start a petition to get it changed to something...better? Please?
Kiradawea2010-06-30 00:24:59
Because the power output is neligible. 36 hours later, and the spire has generated 1% of power. The Transmology and Harmonics Trans skill are among the weakest I've seen, common skills included.
Nienla2010-06-30 00:27:26
I am sure there is a special envoy report nearing in the future to help resolve the weaknesses/omgnerfstrengths of both classes. Though, I feel that Flesh Mound is a lot more useful than Spire is right now. But Heartstone > Fleshmound.
Kiradawea2010-06-30 00:32:06
And every other rezz skill >>>>> Heartstone >> Fleshpots.

I disagree. Heartstone is pretty epic. Probably more so than Sacraments. Definitely better than Crow Darkrebirth.
Unknown2010-06-30 00:54:09
Lolwhat. Rezz needing one specific person to be logged in when you die is such an unreasonable idea.
In fact, sacraments rez is better just because anyone can do it, even if you die.

Aicuthi2010-06-30 00:56:31
I really like Heartstone(in terms of flavor). Realistically, I don't see anyone using the kill option considering the only people you'd be using it on are citizens.
There are so many Spheres on Continuum that the chances of people raiding the particular one adjacent to your Spire is well...slim to none. There is not much incentive for me to trans Harmonics. I'm not trying to sound too dismissive, but I'm just not feeling it.
Convoke is too expensive for what it does. Sure you can summon someone to wherever your Spire bonus is, but that doesn't stop them from continuing to run around.

Absolutely, I think convoke is pretty bad too. It should at least be much faster than it currently is.

I'm pretty sure you're going to find a Xenthos-esque Researcher who is logged in all the time.

Xenthos is busy with customers right now.
Please leave a message and perhaps write again later.

I'm still pretty unfamiliar with Harmonics abilities, but does Heartstone create a physical object? Like, PersonA creates a heartstone of PersonB. Person A has to log out and gives the heartstone to PersonC. PersonB dies, PersonC resurrects personB.

Believe it's non-physical
Eldanien2010-06-30 04:22:02
Are multiple people able to heartstone a given person? Such that if a person dies, there's a number of people able to resurrect them?
As for disappointing trans skills, that's neither here nor there. It's the total balance of the class that matters, though it makes more sense for the trans skill to be a crowning achievement of sorts. A lot of guilds could point to a trans skill of theirs and shrug shoulders.

So you're saying that because one person might be logged in 99% of the time, skill A must be fine. By that logic, because one person can escape saplocks fine, sap must be underpowered amirite. Lolwhat.
It'd be a lot more reasonable if heartstones can be passed around, if there was a way for one person to use another's heartstone.

That ruins the RP perspective of the skill because it is supposed to be a sign of trust between -you- and the person who is letting you crystalize their heart.
Unknown2010-06-30 04:58:46
Nope, you can twist it around so that the heartstone is a sign that you are literally putting your life in the hands of the Collective, but in turn, the Collective takes care of you, and so on.

80% dumped in less than 24 hours ago... 92% now... so in one day I've gained atleast two powerplex jewels worth of power and can store an extra 100%
It's really slow at low levels, but you dump power in when you log out and take it out when you come back. Need to check when the power is generated though, if it's over time then it's better to leave it in and skim when needed, if it's dumped at a certain time then you just jump up to continuum and make sure the power is in before that.

eeeh, the rp is cool but the practicality ruins it. At the least some way to remove the crystal heart would be nice.
