Cause he sure didn't get a lot from me....my first 4 purchases were, like....10 credits, 10, 10....and 10.
*edit
I still like him as a mentor though. He gives me teleporting cookies.

Again, to be honest, he's happy getting any credits.

One thing I really like about Lusternia is how the Admin operate.
They aren't distant, and they're willing to play around with you a little. And their responses are in character, period. Unless it's a major issue, which will then be promptly handled by other people. Jigan once asked Fain about putting a chest someplace. He came in, fixed it, then killed Jigan via katana to squishy things for summoning him on such a minor issue.
Admin to player interactions is one of the things that makes this game great. Be it when they are possessing a mob and surprising people, or Fain killing you, because Fain is awesome.

Raezon came to me in the middle of an aetherhunt and started telling me that I need to learn to question authority more and to stand up for myself and be more self-reliant. (This was after I asked him for help with getting my office key instead of talking to the person who had it, because, tbh, I didn't realize he actually had it.) It was actually a really awesome interaction, and Raezon didn't even attack me or anything.
There's lots of really awesome RP in this game, in my opinion. The only issue can be finding it sometimes.

I am not. Started a mage I think it was, geomancer. Lost...completely lost...reading help scrolls nonstop...too many planes, ways of combat, bromide potions? *explodes*
Yeah, it can be overwhelming at first, but you get the hand of it quickly.
The Planes are actually one of my favorite parts of the game, as it is like exploring multiple worlds and each plane has a really rich background to it. Try getting used to the game environment a little first before you jump into combat. It might make things a little easier one you. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help. We have an incredibly helpful and supportive playerbase here, so if you ask your city or guild, I am sure someone would be happy to give you some individualized help and just sit and answer your questions.
ongaku2010-06-30 04:30:49
You were a Geomancer? D: I feel terrible now! I would have gladly helped you out more if I knew you were so lost. T_T
And yes, I love the planes thing in Lusternia.

If you get addicted to Lusternia, blame the histories. Also, are we not due for another epic Elder Wars history again?

The lulz is what keeps me here and a small handful of people.
But more than anything the old ur'guard members one in particular that excites me in the pants.

Or you could just go without a mentor, and just ask questions of everyone. Krellan has quite enough credits, thank you.

If you still have the Geomancer, send me a tell. Normally, I hate handling novices, but for you, I'll make an exception (To the refusal to train them, Jigan still wants to murder every serf in the city in a bloody yet humourous way. Because he's full of love for people, but sadly, most people just don't count as people). I can point you in the general direction of things, or at least try to explain it better. Give us a second chance, we didn't mean it.
I can also help cut down on the reading. Seriously, don't try to read through the scrolls in one sitting. I did, and look what happened. Ease into it. When you need to learn something, then you go HELP WHYISTHEREAPOINTYHEELEDSHOEINMYHEAD or HELP SQUIBBLES (Followed by HELP DEATH). Don't try to do that beforehand, otherwise Wikipedia effect kicks in, then you're overwhelmed. Take it nice and slow, and ask questions. If they don't respond over the channels, try another one. If that don't work, speak directly to the person. You can lose track of tells or CT, GT, and CGT quickly.
All else fails, ask over newbie for a Guide. One will appear to help you.
Just to reiterate: Noobs and Newbies are not people to me. Please read my poem on Dealing with Novices, page 3 I believe. Too many bad experiences and too much burn out. This is a special case. Everyone else: Knives to the eyes, spleens to the skies. That's how I roll.

I'm the Geomancer GA, and I will happily answer any questions you have, because I love dealing with novices. Feel free to send me a message or letter if you have any questions. My schedule is really weird (take a look at my Forum profile for info about when I'm around), but I'm pretty good about getting back to people in a timely manner (except Troika apparently, I freaking forgot about her again >.O).
Jigan, go back to your cave like I told you. I'll be over there to deal with you in a minute.

This.
Also, the histories, the Divine, the Demi-divine(ahem, ahem), the Ascended Divine, the different areas, the quests, the diversity of the skillsets, the guilds, the players, the admin, the communication between the admin and players(as seen in the forums, envoy reports, rp sessions, shout wars, etc.),shouts, custom zaps, custom beasts, manses, manse dwellers, the planes, family system, culture system, Avechna and Kethuru.
Also Fain-Raezon babies, Fain-Eventru babies, Fain-Lyreth babies, etc.
There are many things that makes the game great - you just need to find which aspect of the game you like best.
Also, I'm an official LiFain fanboy. (Next chapter of the histories, please)

I've started playing again after a two year break. The only advice I can give you is this: if you like RP or you just want people not to spank each other in the center of the city, don't join Serenwilde.
EDIT: I was a little unfair, I corrected that.

On the note of divine joining on aetherhunts, I believe it was Raezon as well joined a group of us on a ship at one point while we were hunting dragons. I don't recall everything that was exchanged but I do remember it was entertaining and we tried to get him to lock into a turret and just zap them for us..

Seconded.
You can find good RP wherever you go. But there are extremes.
Serenwilde: OMG IT'S A GOOD FOREST I LUV BIRDIES AND FURRIES SNUGGGGGGGGLE
Glomdoring: Get me my razor blades, life isn't worth it anymore, I was never loved as a child, GO TA HELL
Magnagora: GET OUT MA HOUSE I BETTER THAN U MAGGOT
New Celest: I'm a pretty princess GET ME MORE BACON
Hallifax: I'm sorry, you aren't worth my time. Fill out these forms and come back never. Idiot.
Gaudiguch: DOWN WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT DO WHATEVER YOU WANT I KILL U
Thankfully, you can avoid all that most of the time and find a place you fit in pretty well. Aside from a few instances I've had nothing but good RP experiences in Serenwilde and the very short time I had an alt in Glomdoring (before I ran out of time for him ).
