Best class for PK

if you really want creativity, take one of the two new guilds, illuminati or institute researchers. The two recent prior are aeromancer and pyromancer. I personally think illuminati are currently sweet and super strong, but like other said they'll have class reports within a few months after test driving. Still new classes will have the most creativity.

You'll find that group combat is pretty king, but with some experience and some good teammates, you can get it down to small group combat. Otherwise, spars/duels for straight 1v1's a lot of people are willing to spar.

I haven't fought many Aeros since their latest round of fixes, but the few fights I had with Coriemtur were pretty fun.

Thanks to the passive mental and passive herb affs from the demesne, telepathy is a better choice for aeromancers than it is for other mages (most of whom are telekinetic). You can either go for the half ego instakill, mana wastage -> claws bleedout or dysbaric pressure instakill which is a nice set of options.

Psionic mages can also make full use of illusions (they can illusion while off psi balance) and telepaths have a force skill.

Multiple kill methods, useful illusions and a force skill are three things I'd look for in a creative class so aero might be just what you're looking for.

the big thing about the new guilds is that every tertiary is possible to pull off with the new guardians. Mostly with the new mages less so on runes, but even runes might be possible if not a challenge.

@Solanis: I don't know what the hell you're talking about, Moondancers are fantastic at 1v1.

@Krellan: Tarot blows for Institute.

IMO, there's no real 'best class for PK' - almost all guild/archetypes can be good at combat. You just have to find the combat style that fits you best.
Kante2010-07-05 12:07:38
And once you find what fits you best, forsake it all and go Tahtetso.

Oh-ho-ho. I keed, I keed.

But seriously, you can make just about anything work if you try hard enough. Find your niche.

Pretty much every class's kill is linear, some just have a bit more random thrown in (Guardians and Warriors especially).

I like classes that requires certain creativity/skill to use; played a Jester in Achaea. Will an Aeromancer do the trick? or would a Knight class be more suitable?

Manu? Payne? /pokepokepoke

Why do you say Tarot isn't good for the Institute?
Shamarah2010-07-05 22:13:44
Zero synergy. Institute don't need aeon, don't need hangedman, and have no way of using soulless.
Ixion2010-07-06 01:52:58
Bard or any guardian/wiccan guild.

hmm... how is the alliance between Hallifax and New Celest/Glomdoring like? is it likely to dissolve anytime soon? or likely to dissolve at all? and which is less likely to? I have friends in Hallifax and would like to not go against them
Unknown2010-07-06 03:10:14
I can't give an inside view since I'm not in any of those orgs, but I will say that no alliance is assured for any amount of time. Especially so since the admin sometimes like to throw events in that all but force two orgs to oppose one another for mechanical or rp reasons.

Knowing Hallifax, you have nothing to worry about. They stay neutral in just about every conflict if they can help it, and the chances of outright war/aggression are unbelievably slim, and the trend probably won't change.

well, its decided that i'll be going monk then... but am torn on which one to go, Nekotai or Tahtetso =\\ I heard the only thing Tahtetso is better at is their instantkill... how good exactly is it?
Kante2010-07-06 05:48:49
Tahtetso instakill is pretty powerful. Really, I'm going to say Tahtetso is ezmoad (but, I hate monks in the first place), while Nekotai is slightly more difficult ezmoad.

Tahtetso could be alikened to Haidouken spam: roll your thumb, press a button; Nekotai are more like one of those Street Fighter abilities that make you "Charge" then roll your thumb, then press two buttons.
Unknown2010-07-06 06:43:00
how exactly does a Nekotai kill though? and how good is Stealth compared to Harmony?
Furien2010-07-06 06:49:15
Everything >> Harmony, in practice.
