I would think it SHOULD be acceptable, as long as you actually manage t o kill people with it. Nothing wrong with humiliating the enemy by killing them with a fluffy teddy bear tahto or whatever

I am sorry but having a pink lyre doesn't necessarily make you look like a fool. It just means (depending on certain things) that that person likes pink. So freaking what. If he doesn't want to be like everyone else and have a macabre lyre then that's his choice. What you wield, and choose to kill people with is your choice. Unless you are -outrageously- dressed/wielding something (which, imo, a pink lyre is not) then people need to stfu. Our characters are all individuals within a society, so long as he continues to work for the better of Magnagora's society, there's nothing wrong with him having one (as far as we know) "silly/foolish" thing.
Non-homogeneity, in my society?!?! I don't think so!

I think expecting everyone in any org to be the same stereotypical, cookie-cutter, image is way more ridiculous than having a pink lyre, personally.

Have a lyre that makes you look like an utter fool is not exactly giving the Engine the best image, so could be seen as inappropriate conduct. I'm not saying you should go black and dark and spikes and evil looking creatures but there's limits. I am all for lightheartedness in RP other than the usual serious business but you're making a serious complaint it seems.
Bolded, before I get words put in my mouth.
And I suppose there is a point in as long as it kills people it works. I'm still going to think it looks stupid, doesn't matter who you are.
Unknown2010-07-20 01:16:39
That's silly having a dig at someone for having something pink.
Having something a different colour to everyone else is what makes you unique! Right?!

The pink jakari with ribbons was also designed--and used by-- Malarious.
Calixa2010-07-20 01:28:39
Oh, color isn't the real issue for me, more the rainbow bits. And the happy shininess. But oh well.
Mihewi2010-07-20 01:48:59
I remember that lyre. Kiriwe either commissioned it or designed it herself when she was in the Cacophony to help her grief Magnagora. Unless I'm thinking of a different obnoxiously pink and rainbow lyre with ribbons all over it.
Unknown2010-07-20 02:14:30
Kiriwe's lyre definitively.
Esano2010-07-20 02:16:07
Trying to kill you was taking it too far, yes. But if you're carrying around that lyre in Magnagora, you should expect to be ridiculed for it.

What does my lyre have to do with being a good citizen?
Good question! What does my being Furrikin have to do with how good a Magnagoran I am (it's not like I'm a damn Merian or Elfen )? What does my being "happy" have to do with how good an Administrator I am?
The answer is that it doesn't. It has nothing to do with anything. However, there are those people in Mag who think it does. There always will be. Those are the people you don't bother with.
And Ongaku saw the lyre and went "Holy crap, he's going to be murdered for that. I should say something..." Then 8 people needed me at the same time. I'm enjoying the popularity though.
Last edit:

Orange Member Natalissa has been slain in the Klangratch Tournies by Yellow Member Tedd.
He's doing something right.
That aside, it's still a pink lyre, and Tyngh will ridicule you for it.

I'm torn, here. On one hand, I (and the Cacophony, for that matter) are really receptive to individuality. On the other hand, Magnagora, the Cacophony, and every org/guild have themes that their citizens, their RP, everything usually reflects, and for good reason.
The instrument in question has nothing to do with Magnagora, or the Cacophony, and is actually a direct contrast to both. Pink ribbons just don't go with plague, pestilence, the Taint or undeath...
Edit: That said, I don't think killing him is justified.

What do pink ribbons have to do with the Astrosphere of Cancer...?

A lot of Muud is pink, if you look and read descs as you go, but I don't think the lyre is described thusly.

I was actually going to reply to Lothringen with this reference.
As you can tell by the timestamps!
Edit: I had anticipated a comment about it not being IC, that is. Heh.

Duuude, he's using pink, like, all ironic. It's like, duuuuude, it's like rain, only, like, on your wedding day.
