You probably aren't going to 1v1 kill Vathael, Ceren or Thoros in Sap.

This is a general thing for Druids, even without the advanced curing systems: they can just tank everything you do to them in sap, damage-wise. I recall a spar where I forced Thoros to divinefire, but after that it was mostly a 10-minute game of me chasing him around the arena, breaking my own demesne so that I could reform it and chase him as he tumbled everywhere.

Edit: I've also asked Estarra if I could create a report for Druids and submit it to my Envoy, so we'll see.

Yeah, allowing that probably wouldn't be the most smartest plan ever.

I mean, they open that box, and they'd get every dope's personal take on what should be done with their pet skillset.

Not to mention that in many cases, it would be like letting this guy guard a day care.

As for the tinkering comments earlier in the thread, I sorta felt like it being "broken" is a mixed blessing. Less crap to carry around in my inventory and worry about cramming into reflexes.

I always figured Tinkering and Brewmeister were made inferior by design.

Although Felicia is a Tinkerer and I'd like to see the skill revamped someday, I fully agree with you on that point. Combatants in particular need to have literally hundreds of fiddly things in their possession: vials, enchantments, buff foods, tea, herbs, consumables, pipes, scrolls, artifacts, and so on and so forth.

Adding another set of things to worry about isn't particularly desirable.

Yet they still cost 1715 lessons to trans. tongue.gif

True, everyone could simply shun the skill, but the thing about Tinkering is that it does contain several very useful things for Bards (too useful to ignore, really): Tempo, Largo and Vivace, maybe one or two others.

Alright. Must get pumped to re-create my selection of teas to make them viable again. Stupid commodity shift. Must do this or my e-Starbucks will fail. weightlift.gif

In hindsight, I'm a little grateful for this. Mage & Guardian guilds usually have fairly strong numbers, whereas Bards (except for the Spiritsingers) tend to flux between "kind of active" and "still hanging in there". I can't imagine needing a Cantor to enchant something for me, considering I only see four ever (Mirai, Syridean, Shric, and that one newbie girl whose name I can't remember. Kheslyn?) and I don't know how many of them even took up Enchanting.

You're only on Pesukaru when you're not busy with one of your other alts! tongue.gif On a related note, I liked your recent Celest news post. That passive-aggressive snuggly rubs me the wrong way OOCly.
Krellan2010-07-14 11:06:00
it's cool guys. I have resolved and satisfied all parties with two small changes to druids.

It's mostly because I feel that everytime that ANYONE complains about ANYTHING we get an admin response of, "Well. Send us your suggestions instead of relying on us to fix everything." Hence why I would be willing to submit a report.

That's a good point. It's always better to do something constructive than to just complain, IMO. The worst that happens is that you get told your ideas won't work. But, even if they shoot down the bulk of the idea, they may like some part of it and use it.

Or, spark an idea. Like, "Wow, that would never work! But... hmm... you know what would? Yeah!"

Right. I wouldn't expect (or want for that matter) for admins to take every single one of the suggestions I sent them, but it would at least provide a solid backbone to help put Druids on the right direction to becoming more of an equal and balanced affliction class.

EDIT: Plus, it's better than being pessimistic and doing nothing except ranting on the forums
Shiri2010-07-14 15:59:45
Ok, way too much talk about druids in here overnight, make a thread if you want to continue it.

I keep picturing that (and all lobstosities) going "Whoopwhoopwhoopwhoopwhoop!"

Anyway, if all druids want is to be a better affliction class, especially out of demesne, couldn't some key skills in Ecology just be buffed? Like make fetish venoms less shruggable, ala the new(ish) Tracking skill? Also, a viable instakill as the trans skill might help, maybe the fetish burrows into the enemy, and if the enemy doesn't RIP FETISH fast enough, it reaches the heart and instakills (otherwise it just does a bunch of damage and bleeding?). I dunno, maybe I just giggle every time I say fetish.
Shiri2010-07-14 16:24:56
Geez, there was even more than I thought.

Need to balance it against commune bards, can't really comment beyond that. But it's probably going to be brought up if a report went through and the suggestions would buff bards too much.

Could have it so only druids get the poison buff, and bards get like...prettier charms or something (extra DMP if you encrust them with EDIT:cut gems, I dunno). It's not unheard of if it's just one skill (like Trophy vs. Headhunter)

True, though there is also things like batbane. Which was put in purely for bards but druids have the ability too. unsure.gif
