Is diving equivalent to burrowing, but in the ocean?
I'd always assumed it was a way to get to deeper levels of the ocean, but if it's a burrowing equivalent - is it useful to have?

There's only one level for diving. It's situationally useful (read: not really). The only use I can think of is diving in Bondero Bay for hammerhead sharks, either for hunting or the honours quest.

It's similar to burrow. It only works in watery rooms with no DOWN exit. There is, AFAIK, only one "dive" level (unlike the nine "burrow" levels). You can still outrift and such while dived (unlike while burrowing) and must SWIM in a direction to move.
Xavius2010-07-23 08:14:47
To sort of echo what they said, it's functionally more similar to sewers than burrow. Minimal stealth usage, primarily a bashing usage.

What does it mean if a set of clothing is " bathed in silvery moonlight. " when you weaponprobe it?
Jack2010-07-23 09:12:35
Is that Drawdown? Thought that only affected weapon stats. Or is the moonlit clothing a purely cosmetic side effect?

The thing is it didn't use to happen. This is why I bugged it. Nexus' editor is the best for those quick things we have to make.
QUOTE (Noola @ Jul 22 2010, 04:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
But that only started in the last week or two. Before that, it didn't happen. I was able to jump back and forth between Mushclient and Nexus without ever 'logging off' either of them - the system just saw me log in on Nexus and auto logged me out of Mushclient and vice versa. No defenses were ever lost until recently.
What changed?
And better question, can you please change it back?

It's drawdown. It bathes everything, but only affects weapon stats.

Clearly, the Administration wants everyone to stop using the Nexus editor. I approve!

Psh.
Does the Hifarae quest have a cooldown time?

What colour is merian blood?
Eventru2010-07-23 12:06:29
It's not something we changed, to my knowledge.
If I had to guess, it has to do with Lusternia's increased server speed resulting from the switch and clean-up that was done in the code (because of the lag some routines were causing), so it's more likely to notice a dropped link faster. Only a guess though!

Not sure that I know anyone who has a dweller to ask.
I just wanted to verify that Manse Dwellers work like all mobiles in that you can order them to follow you. Do they just reset to your manse when you log off if so?

I don't know the exact answer but far as I'm aware, you can either request to have them reset to a manse (and then they're not supposed to follow you out, but I think they do/did) or to reset into your inventory (and then they will follow you about).

Considering I simply reconnect (and never actually close my client, but rather open up a new window), I'm not sure that's the reason. My link never drops, not even for a fraction of a second (at least I'd assume it doesn't, since it's Lusternia that kicks my connection when I connect with the other client).

It's quite black in the moonlight.
Noola2010-07-23 15:24:53
I like to think everyone has red blood except Illithoids, who have black ichor, Kephra who bleed green (like RL bugs!) and Lucidians who I have a hard time picturing bleeding at all cause they're made of crystal, but since I have to, I picture them bleeding a thick clearish fluid.

Reconnecting involves a connection followed by a disconnection rather than the other way around. You're signed on to a new port and the old port is then closed when it detects the duplicate login. So, yes, you are disconnected.

Anyone seen Aerys recently?
Unknown2010-07-23 16:50:45
Aerys hasn't been around for about a week. Hope it's not something bad.
Razenth2010-07-23 16:52:31
Well, knowing where she is IRL, I REALLY hope it isn't something bad...
