WAX. How do I acquire it?

The easiest to get is bookworm bait. Talk to the female archivist at the library on Avechna's Peak. I think her name's Nia.

(bring some flowers and a book, too)

Hm, what happened?

10:04:38.904 Iasmos swings Thunderhart, a flail sparking with eldritch energies at you. You are pounded
10:04:38.904 in the left arm, which becomes limp and falls to your side.
10:04:38.908 A magic aura flares around you and absorbs some of the damage.
10:04:38.910 You watch, in horror, as your left arm shrivels up and becomes useless.
10:04:38.912 You cease to wield an athame dagger.

RoA absorbing some of the damage. I thought it sometimes absorbed all and sometimes some?
Furien2011-02-08 18:53:51
Your rune absorbed the physical damage, but his elemental runes still went through.

It doesn't always absorb all damage. I know my own flimsy damage has been partially absorbed and I don't have elemental runes.
Unknown2011-02-08 20:06:30
It should always absorb 100% of the cutting/blunt damage, but everything else gets through. It was typo'd and fixed a long while ago to show the "some" instead of "all" when an attack has multiple damage types.

So it smells like a bug? Unless you're doing cutting and blunt in the same hit.

What is that for?

I want some generic fragrance. Fragrance brand fragrance: for when you're just not fragrant enough.

But no seriously I dunno. Maybe it's just a perfume being shown weird. Buy it and find out??

It's a manse fountain thing. It has no purpose. Emote with it, I guess. You can actually drink it if you like. (And as I recall if you SMELL it it has no distinct smell.)

It makes me dream of the possibility of custom fragrances... dazed.gif
Lendren2011-02-08 21:32:54
Yet it's farther from that than the five we have (which at least you can wear!). A MUD I used to play had custom fragrances you could design, including what they looked like when worn. I doubt we'll have that here though.
Sylphas2011-02-09 00:01:21
Anything in a vial that you can't place to a tradeskill is almost always a manse fountain thing, including all non-alchoholic drinks other than tea, I believe.

So I've been gone for awhile, the apparent tae'dae nerfs were heartbreaking and I figured even slower balance would surely terminate my tae'dae ninjakari.

Nerd rage has subsided by now though, turning from a raging flame to a low boil. So I thought I'd ask some Q's smile.gif

1. Now that the racial changes have been around for awhile, what are tae'dae playing like? Any tae'dae PvPers? I assume ninja is out, but any other classes they could be?

2. What's changed politically in the last six months or so?

3. Should I get a pet rabbit IRL? I could name him Holmes.

2. Hallifax is with Magnagora and Serenwilde now.

3. Rabbits are very stinky creatures.
Rika2011-02-09 00:35:23
Tae'dae, believe it or not, actually got worse.

On top of that, there was a monkNERF that decreased the effects of weapon speed. Now, armed attacks are SLOWER than unarmed attacks.

Put that on TOP of tae'dae speed penalty being amplified. Would love to know before and after numbers for the cumulative effects of monk/race changes.

2. What's changed politically in the last six months or so?

The vipers have all defected from Glomdoring.

3. Should I get a pet rabbit IRL? I could name him Holmes.

No. Get a sugar glider and name him something fierce, like Spartacus or... Wiggles.

Huh...After checking Iasmos' post I doubled checked to make sure and it looks like I made a mistake. Sorry for the misinformation! There was something else in that log that made me think it worked that way, but I suppose I misread and misremembered...
Unknown2011-02-09 01:00:06
I really wish I could play this game as a tae'dae and not feel severely handicapped sad.gif It's not like the race being sub-par is a new problem. Someone needs to be fired.
