Capricorn is actually the cardinal earth sign, which would relate best to Magnagora's affinity to it(Geomancers). Sea-goat is just an imagery.

As quoted from Wikipedia:

EDIT: Oh, your actual question was what do the MONK guilds have to do with their astrological sign.
I'm just making this up right now, but I'd guess Capricorn, as relating to the above quote would have to do with the protection and contribution to Magnagoran development and the balance of society. Or something like that...

EDIT2: If I'm not mistaken, Magnagora was once part of the Celestine Empire(which is referred to as the Time of Weakness)? It would make sense that the body of a fish transformed into a land creature, walking on it's own feet as opposed to floundering in mud. They don't call it the Engine of Transformation for nothing.

Then again I am pulling this all out of my behind.

I was thinking that sea-goat thing looked like a tainted merian-viscanti gone wrong... really wrong. Kinda like when Jeff Goldblum steps into the machine with the fly.

I think Kharvik's had his age altered. His birthday is only 23 days before mine, but his age shows as 20 years older. Some of us prefer to age more naturally!
Sylphas2010-07-26 01:04:22
Just look for people born on 1 Estar 71. Should be the oldest you can be. +20 if you count Aeonics.

Looks like Malari-kins when he wakes up in the morning.

HONOURS CRIRIK for oldest mortal. :>

Not sure who the oldest immortal, but I'd go for Auseklis. This is assuming of course that you don't count Estarra as being here when Dynara was.

I've got a bunch.

1. Can any suit or gown pattern be a greatrobe-style suit? (i.e. with the nice stats)

2. Can any weapon pattern be a master weapon?

3. What exactly is a master weapon and how can I tell if I've got one?

4. Is there any way to 'upgrade' from a regular suit or non-master weapon short of getting a new one?

Pretty sure the design of the suit I gave you is greatrobes.
Felicia2010-07-26 09:05:18
Are we still at the point where "hat"-noun items are the only equivalent for hoods on greatrobe-strength gowns and suits? Or is there something else?

I'd give a leg and a kidney for a noun like "cowl."

What are all the different ways you can make a character permanent?

As far as I know, buying some credit package is the only one.

Any amount, or does it have to be a certain amount? And I swear I've heard something about a ridiculous amount of time played also doing it. I'm just really curious and there doesn't seem to be any sort of list anywhere!

What are all those paper daisy lanterns floating around Water? I want to bash them. They taunt me.

Any amount. Even the $9 package would do it. It's cause once you've spent real money on a character, there are financial records tied to it or something that make it problematic to just be able to delete.

But I'm 94% sure that this is the only way. I could be wrong though. That 6% gets me all the time! laugh.gif

I guess lessons would do it too, then?

There are like three ways to do, iirc. Time, Credits, and Bardic/Artistinals.

Bardics/Artisanals don't make your character permanent, unless that's been changed recently. I've had a character who'd placed in bardics get deleted once.

Unless an admin comes and says otherwise or someone offers some proof, I still think that the only way is to spend money on a character.

It pretty much is, the Permanent tag means you can't suicide the character. If you have lots and lots of time though, your character is unlikely to be purged. Especially if you still log in occasionally.

I remember seeing/reading about people who had perm. characters and they never spent money on their characters. They just had really long play times.

I know I saw a thread about this stuff somewhere, damnit.
