Gods don't meddle with mortal affairs.

The Gods from Celest or Magnagora. Or maybe just not worth their time?

This is not true. 'An origami in the shape of a pickle' will not work, and any reviewer who approves such will be soundly beaten.
Why not? The list of acceptable nouns includes origami, according to the DESIGN command. That's the rule that's always been cited before. GET ORIGAMI works, after all, and that's what that rule is meant to ensure.
Shulamit2011-02-20 04:37:06
I already tried it with origami kittens, and such. Doesn't work. Has to also use the nouns given, the package, star, flame, etc. Otherwise, there would be tons of origami kittens from me, yup yup.
Lendren2011-02-20 04:40:42
But "an origami kitten" wouldn't work because the main noun is "kitten" so you'd think to type GET KITTEN which wouldn't work. So that's why that's already not allowed. The question is whether and why "an origami in the shape of a kitten" should be forbidden, since "origami" is an allowed primary noun, and the purpose for the limitation doesn't cause a reason to forbid it.

Viravain killed White Hart at least once, but that was Extra-Crazy Event Viravain With Kethuru-Fu Grip, so that doesn't really count. I think you could get away with citing Mutually Assured Destruction, as long as no one looks too hard at the question of why three super-active gods can't outdo what one semi-active god can do, and similar disparities.

I wondered that too. 'Origami' is listed right there as one of the main noun options in actionorigami. No other trade design requires you to use more than one of the noun options in the design, so why is origami different?

Because it can also be gotten with GET FLAME (or whatever the template is), which it decidedly isn't (a flame).
The only acceptable origami types are the given ones (crane, hippogriff, package, star, flame, snake, dragon).
Comparatively, it's like taking a bowl of soup design and making it 'an ice-cream filled bowl' - because bowl is also a viable noun for those design.

Presumably, Estarra says "No." to any attempts to screw with mortals, and would put the smackdown on anyone that tried (who wasn't crazy at the time).

You also have entities like the Elder Gods, the Star of Celest, Necromentate/Dome, Drachou, etc - all of which are capable of protecting their homes against threats (for a time, at least).

When requesting a custom pet, is it considered too OOC to request very specific breeds of dogs (eg. An Akita Inu?). >.>

Don't see why it would be. Aren't the dogs used for Hunting specific breeds? I'm pretty sure I remember Celest's dog being a Golden Retriever or something... and isn't Magnagora's dog a Bloodhound? Those are specific RL breeds.

Actually, I'm pretty sure there are issues inherent with requesting customisation to tracker dogs. Don't quote me on this, but I think the code functions such that each time your dog is killed, you end up summoning a new one of the same template. If you customise, that's going to be the only one you'll get, so if it dies... yeah. And they're not going to make it permanent resetting on the basis of anti-rogue policy.
I'd email the artifacts box if you really want to explore the option, but I think you might hit up with a wall.

I thought he was wanting a pet? I just used the tracker dogs as an example of the fact that there are specific breeds in the world of Lusternia already, so a pet of a specific breed shouldn't be a problem.
Sorry if I misunderstood.

Ah, no, I think you're right. I'm just attempting to do about five different things at once and it isn't turning out so well today.

Drachou is a pretty big fat dragon. Maybe he sits on the enemy God long enough for Kalikai to show up and deal with Him or Her.

Sure, for a time - eventually it will fall, of course. Perhaps a bit faster than if it were under assault from the Stareater/Purifier of the Taint/Drachou/Collective/etc.
Would make for an interesting book, IG!
