You currently gain 1p every x-amount of experience generated by the squad that is allied to an organization. The sash has some z-percent chance to boost this 1p to 2p, but I don't know what the percents are for this or the gold/xp boost the other artifacts give.

I hate valuable limited-use things, especially if they're irreplaceable. I never want to use them up in case there's a situation where it would be more useful.
