If you reject a family, can you bloodbond to form a new one after?

I had someone who had been in a family by marriage reject that family and then be unable to bloodbond into mine, so I'm not sure if that would work out.

I don't think anything can stop you from founding a new family, though.

Hmm. I really hope this is the case. But the person in question needs to be 100% sure before they go and reject their family.

If they're a part of their family by birth or by bloodbonding, then they definitely cannot bloodbond someone else, because their ancestry is already set in stone. If it's by marriage and they have no previous family ties before being married, then I don't know- it didn't work the one time I've experienced it, though in theory, it should be able to.

Can zimoru bought from the artifact shop be used by anyone, or only the person whose mark is on it?

Confirmed that anyone can use it regardless of whose mark it has.

It isn't possible to crownbond a runed crown? Or, do you need to bond with the crown first before attaching the rune?

IIRC, it's not possible, because trans trade items (with the exception of the forging one) aren't meant to be permanent.

Also why you can't put shield runes on tomes, even though people asked for that.

That might be more because you can only shield rune symbols/instruments/athames/staves/cudgels. I tried to shield rune my Luna doll, which is already non-decay and resetting, and was shot down.

People have asked for tomes to be included in that a few times in the past, mostly for the imagery of bashing someone over the head with a big ol' book for shield stun. It got a firm "No".

In regards to what the Mantle of Starlight actually looks like...

For physical composition, I'm under the impression that it has the consistency of flowing water, yet still stays together like cloth, while the actual look of it is a dark semitransparent substance that appears like the night sky. So, essentially, flowing sky. On one side near the neck is a brooch with two tassles hanging out of it, which secures it around the neck of the wearer.

However, is it a mantle, or a mantelet? (as in, short cloak, or long cloak?)

Thoughts?

I think questions about how you envision certain items or places in the game could be its own whole thread. chin.gif It would be fun to see people's answers!

If I choose a perfectly cromulent Illithoid name for my Illithoid character, like Hatithamtki, Charhaulhu, or Yyaccthhu, what guarantee do I have that the guides won't nag me about it?

So, Qistrel's a kephera. Would a tattoo design described as a 'carapace etching' be allowed/approved?

ediit: I was (happily) misinformed ohmy.gif you don't need 'tattoo' in the appearance!

May as well submit it with just a carapace etching and see where it gets.
Eventru2011-05-13 10:11:50
It's a really tough call - tattoo isn't needed in the name though, not for tattoos. smile.gif
