I've heard that the number of spawns per pulse also increases with the number of people on the bubble. Is there any truth to that? I know it'd be easy to test but I don't want to risk my meager essence just yet.

There is. As I recall, it's randomly 1 or 2 creatures per person per link tick.

THE GIFTS OF MAY! For every 100 credits purchased, you will receive one present!

Are these presents like the ones you get from Ironbeard?

Has anyone bought credits and received the present promotion?

Are these gnome quality presents or Iron Beard quality presents we're talking about?

Fairly certain there's no difference between the two.

There sure was last Christmas!

Gnomes gave 0 vials, Ironbeard gave many vials. Almost all of his presents were vials. And almost nothing worth getting, unlike gnomes. :|

So hearing that the IRE present gives vials has dampened my enthusiasm to purchase credits for the reward, heh.

Still waiting for my issue about the alt promo to be answered too. This month has to win for most confounding promos.

Does beastmastery bodyguard fire at a set rate, or do things like beast level and beastmastery skill affect it?

Skills with a variable effect like that generally say so right in the AB, so my guess would be no for bodyguard.

You spawn 1-2 per person on the bubble, but you occasionally get a double link (or it appears you do, it's hard to actually measure this without exploring the entire bubble every link) where the spawns are doubled (so 2 or 4, per person).

Bodyguard is supposedly a flat 8%.

I could have sworn it fired at least as much as my RoA, but I'm probably just watching for it more because I like Laurelin better than a silly rune.
Esano2011-05-18 06:42:57
RoA also only fires on physical damage, whereas bodyguard will fire on any mob attack.

While mapping Deepnight, I ended up in a room named Higher Planar Fulcrux. Then somehow got stuck in said room, and it kept looping back on itself. Has anyone else encountered this room? I'm really confused as to how it happened. I had to keep teleporting to someone who was also in there to get out.

Sounds like a bug, or very well designed manse rooms.

The actual exit is a hidden OUT exit.

I see... but the mapper tends to censor.gif itself on in/out exits right now.

Edit:
Tested, no out exit, and it's just one room looping in on itself. Northwest of An impressive gallery in Deepnight for anyone who wants to try. If you try and test, either have someone to teleport to, to get out if you get stuck, be a mage/druid and setup a small demesne to center out, or have something like a pyramid. Believe pyramids work in manses.

It may have just been clever messing with exits to make it do that, you weren't supposed to get in or out any other way except magical painting.

Never seen that before, either it's some event or, much more likely, it's been influenced with weakening/paranoia/some such thing
Gleip2011-05-18 13:59:04
Or a divine who thought it'd be fun to have a bard react to being dragged everywhere but the stage, or being forced to watch brutal murders.

Yeah, after not panicking and actually paying attention, it's a very clever use of manse exits, that I didn't think was possible. I kinda feel silly for panicking over it, but it's clever and if one isn't paying attention(like me) and ends up in there, you start panicking and then get yourself stuck. It's a trick that's very well done.
