Ok, alchemical stuff.
So I've seen people using bottles for potions instead of vials, which I didn't know you could do. Is there any disadvantage to bottles, apart form vials being prettier?
Does anyone know how long a philosopher's stone lasts? It stacks with the faeling racial sip bonus, right?

No disadvantage to bottles, besides being slightly more expensive to made, and being unique, I guess?
Philos stone should stack with faeling racial sip, lasts a few hundred (2?) weaves, I believe.

Healing doesn't cure everything, no. See report 616 for that as well!

From the decision on report 499, it said 5% reduction. Don't quote me on it though.

Bit confused on whether my bardic submission was entered or not on the new website form. I think I followed the correct procedure, but when I go to the 'Your Submissions' tab, I have what I've entered listed in the 'Current Drafts' heading and nothing in the 'Awaiting Approval' heading. Could someone in the know please give a yay or nay on whether it was submitted or not?

What's the goin' rate for dingbats? (Gold and credits wise?)
Esano2011-06-18 17:42:07
I generally see 1.5cr per db, although there's been a small influx due to the Wheel.
Jack2011-06-18 18:14:06
Might as well hold off on selling them until things settle down. Cheers!

Do inherent abilities of beasts count against the 600 training points?
Edit Should I go for Battle(20) Majorbreath(150) Poison (200) Bodyguard(150) Chameleon(70).
or battle aggressive majorbreath poison chameleon. This is on a wyvern.

Inherent abilities don't count to the limit. That's why beasts with the inherents that cost the most trains (trample/hypnoticgaze) cost the most gold to get.

No.
Also, when I try to destroy an exit in a manse room, it gives me the message "There is a door there that you must destroy before destroying the exit." Does anyone know how I get rid of the door? EDIT: nevermind, it was DETACH DOOR.

NO. That's why they are inherent. Picking a beast type should be about optimizing inherent abilities over pure aesthetics.

No doubt this is your first beast. You may eventually want to build two beasts: one for combat and one for bashing (not to mention offensive or defensive optimizations for each). The good bashing skills include battle, aggressive, & bodyguard. The good combat skills include gust, and poisons (which tends to be expensive).
Chameleon is a must-have either way. Keep in mind Majorbreath will be most effective with a beast that has a high mind build (not to mention mana regeneration). Otherwise you only get out a few breath blasts before mana drain.
Here's my bashing wyvern:

PS: There's no point to regenerate health for a bashing beast. I only invested so I could spend all my points. Now with kikikoru, I might also retrain to drop regen and pick up either burrowing, seduction, or healing after investing some credits towards these builds.

Thanks Janalon.
Thinking of going Battle(20) Aggressive(120) Bodyguard(150) Poison(200) Chameleon(70)
A little bit of bashing and combat I think. Only got up to flying right now

Don't waste the trains on Aggressive. It has a negligible impact. Much better off spending the trains on Trotting.

What about balancing? would that be worth it?
Edit: would leave 100 points to play with
