So the cosmic guards of Hallifax (those glowing uberdiceheads) have intimidating personality. I bugged that, but was told that guard personality has no effect on influencing result. But I'm unsure. Cosmic guards (intimidating) take nine influences, as opposed to the six from the Warrior guards (brave). Is there really such a large ego difference between cosmic and warrior guards, or should I try bugging it again?

There's no effect on result is different than saying there's no effect on the process of influencing. If it is saying no difference in result, I think they mean the guard is empowered the same amount.

I'm pretty sure Mag has non-brave guards as well.

Glom does as well, although most are brave.

I'm pretty Celestian guards have been changed to brave. There was a huge discussion regarding it earlier, due to forestal guards being brave, and city guards being intimidating, making guard influencing easier for the forests, so changing the city guards to brave was wanted and highly requested.

Message Elostian.
Kiradawea2010-07-16 22:43:29
ICly or OOCly?
Rika2010-07-16 22:49:39
Pretty sure he takes messages as being OOC anyway.
Kiradawea2010-07-16 23:07:13
K. Thanks.
Everiine2010-07-16 23:08:33
I use PRAY for IC and Messages for OOC... don't know if that's a standard convention or not.
Kiradawea2010-07-16 23:20:21
I just have generally bad experiences with the divine, so I'm naturally hesitant.

Why is it that cooks can brew teas, beers, ales and such from private cartels, but brewmeister/tresses can only brew from public?

Guard personalities were changed (after Celest's were adjusted) so that personality does not affect their influencing, and they can only be influenced with empowerment/weakening.
Kiradawea2010-07-17 00:48:05
So why are Cosmic Guards hitting harder and taking longer to influence than the Warrior Guards?

Pretty sure that is not true.

Took me 11 hits to get a Guardian of the Dodecahedron for 800 essence. A Sentinel Deputy Commissar took 6 hits for 763 essence.

Just tested. Took me 11 weakens to get a Commissar. Definitely not true.

Well, I've noticed that one of Glomdoring's principal guard varieties (illithoid horde) is almost half-again as strong in empowering ego battles as shadowlord widowriders and nighthags.

I always just assumed that was because they were a horde, rather than an individual, and it made more sense that way. I presume they're a more powerful denizen.

Likewise; 7 for a nighthag (brave) and 18 for an illithoid (intimidating).
