I've got my little nest-egg of 5,000,000 sitting in the bank.
I use it to keep me from delving into my personal rainy-day funds.

You could ask this in game, but yes.
Ytran2011-07-03 05:10:03
Only humans are allowed in Hallifax. All other races are impure fractions of cowardly Elder Gods fit only for (painful) experimentation and execution.
Unfortunately, the rest of the city has not realised this.

Humans are also shards. (C'mon, people, the line is not that obscure, why do we keep having to have this argument?)
Ssaliss2011-07-03 14:24:08
How are humans shards? I'm assuming you're referring to the Achaean Unnamable/Son of Yudhe connection, but no god ever sacrificed itself to make humans in Achaea, IIRC. They contain the power of Yudhe through the Unnamable's rape, sure, but the Unnamable was absorbed into Eris and didn't shard. Unless I'm seriously missing something somewhere.

The Unnameable Horror was absorbed into a human, who became Eris through that merging.
Humans are mortals, have souls, and are capable of ascension. So, 'shards' or not, they are (if I recall, I can't find the remark on a cursory review of the histories) only a small fraction of the essence that was the Nameless Son.
One could found an argument that, due to the greatness of soul that was the Nameless Son, he did not need to sacrifice his whole being to create mortal shards. An interesting argument - one that should be argued in the library system! (Do I push this enough?)

(No.)
(Also, Lusternians can't argue the Achaean side of it without breaking the 4th wall.)
Ssaliss2011-07-03 14:37:37
It depends on how you define "shard", I suppose. In my eyes, it's the remnants of a Divine that sacrificed itself to empower a race. Not sure if it's the right (or only) definition, of course.

If Dracnoris could shard into two distinct, seperate races, then I think it's a given that the Nameless Son could sacrifice only a portion of his being to create a race. Whether he did or not is debatable.

The Nameless Son is not an Elder.

Either way, Hallifax wouldn't care much for that sort of mumbo-jumbo! Give them hard facts re: racial superiority/inferiority and they might listen.

Fact- Humans are soft, pink skinned, hairy and require growth for competence.
Fact- Trill are Fragile, winged, racially sexy, and begin their lives at their peak efficiency.

Everyone forgets up until someone says "Hey Glomdoring why don't you have laws there?" and we all roll our eyes and ignore said individual. Then go back to forgetting about it.
