Everyone forgets up until someone says "Hey Glomdoring why don't you have laws there?" and we all roll our eyes and ignore said individual. Then go back to forgetting about it.
Still? Hahahaha.

There shall never be Glomdoring laws scribed there!!!
Edit:
Though I am tempted to front the cost to put up the following phrase on the stone:
"Request Denied."

Glom is still under the impression that being incomprehensible makes you 'cool', at least that's what I tell anyone who asks me why Glom has a blank pillar.

Cooler than all those poor folk who have to keep maintaining their pillar whenever they change a law so that it is not hopelessly out-of-date!
There's no reason for us to put our stuff there though, all the important items get put into treaties as far as others are concerned; for ourselves, we can read our laws anywhere without having to go to some silly cave that has nothing to do with Glomdoring.

The first law of Glomdoring: you do not talk about the laws of Glomdoring.

I've suggested that if the admin want the cave to be used, they should probably come up with a system that penalizes village influencing if you refuse to use it or something. At least, that's what I'd do to get the chambers to get used again.

Sure, we can make up some rubbish and put it there. Maybe just some propaganda.
I see no reason why anyone should be forced to actually use it if they don't want.

I'm also curious if some people don't want to have laws because it interferes with RP. I've tried to see if Hallifax has actually written their laws down in their city and I couldn't find anything that was the equivalent of the leaves of Serenwilde or the scrolls of Celest. I wonder if half the laws Hallifax citizens discuss are made up bureaucratic gobledygook that might be best not written down.

It's as I've pointed out before: I, at least, recognize a difference between "bureaucracy I, the player, do" and "bureaucracy Ileein, the character, does." The latter is miles more fun, if only because my silly disorganized self doesn't actually have to keep the records and the minutia. (Anyway, why would you have one single unifying law document when you can have six? Closest thing we've got are the Peace Articles. Guess we could put those up there if we had to.)

No, pretty sure we do have laws. Also, I think the scrolls/leaves are sort of silly since (last I heard) they needed a god to edit them. Not sure why chelps aren't good enough.

Well, I think the point I'm just trying to make is that the Halls of Justice seems to be intended to be a place where outsiders can know of the major laws without getting into trouble. I have a feeling that all cities--yes including Glomdoring--should write at least those laws that are relevant to outsiders so they don't accidentally have any misunderstandings when visiting the communes or cities. Even if it was only a few paragraphs, I feel that the spirit of the place is meant to be helpful to newcomers and outsiders, and I think it's better than just having a character tell a visitor "don't do that" after the fact. That's all.
Of course, it would be fun to have some RP around the Hall of Justice. I'd love to see something akin to the Hague setup there. Maybe if somebody is wronged by a government they can sue for reparations or something, or clan or family drama--but that would be much harder to pull off without divine intervention.

Okay.
1 rule:
"Outsiders not welcome without prior permission."
Really, I just don't see a need for organizations to be forced to use the thing.

Sarrasri2011-07-03 21:48:31
Serenwilde's Leaves were changed a while ago to not need Divine input to change them. Just a letter with everything written on it. The CL puts that in the Leaves and it updates both the Leaves and the pillar in the Justice cave.

Can you store credits in a bank? Will the withdrawl fee be applied to it?

No and if it were the case, I should certainly hope not.
Ssaliss2011-07-03 23:40:08
I think you can deposit credits at the bank into org accounts, but that's it.
