Minorsecond is indeed based on both stats, but it's an average of these. Quite what the formula is, I cannot say, though suffice to say, getting both stats close together rather than boosting one much higher than the other is the way to go.
I'm pretty sure when they changed it from INT only to include CHA, it was changed to be 50/50. That was a couple of years ago, though, so it could have changed since then.

Yeah, I thought it was roughly 50/50 from what you told me, but I was curious to see if anyone knew for sure. Looks like Knowledge/War is the way to go, then. And to try and find some other ways to boost int.

Both arms amputated : Can't apply salves(and do anything really, I think), so you can't apply regeneration to fix your arms. Think this is the only True Lock if you can't Trueheal out of it or something.
You might want to check allheale/green/gedulah on amputated arms - I seem to remember them being made allheale-curable (or maybe just green-curable? that seems more likely) to avoid this truelock, but I might be wrong.

What is this? A gleam of silver flashes amidst the accumulated snow. I've seen this in snow valley
Ixion2011-07-26 08:07:38
Perhaps something bladed is buried in the snow..

No, I believe it was decided that double amputate was so hard to do that allhealing or greening out of it would be silly. So yeah. You get double amputated, you die. Only thing that may save you would be a sacrifice or an external trueheal.

Is the trans herbs sparkleberry buff supposed to apply to coltsfoot, too?

Is there a map of Elemental Aetherspace with actual labels in existence? Everything I've found takes me either to Ethereal, Cosmic, or a broken link.

There is not... there's not even an updated one, unfortunately. This one is both out of date, and incomplete... but, if it helps any, the central shape contains the gate to prime on the right, with water on the left. West from that is earth. Between the two, to the north, is Xion. To the far northeast are Fire (closer to Xion) and Air (farthest east) -- the figure in the northeast of the map is Air, and the black immediately between Air and Xion is where Fire is. The eastern portion of the map is not filled in, but this cyan ring circles around the entire plane.

You would think with all the emphasis on Aetherhunting and how popular it is somebody would try to get Cartography credits/honours for mapping Aetherspace.
It's like Lusternia only had four people mapping in it's almost 7 year history: Caffrey, Elyrin, Shorlen and Exarius...

Elryn. Also, loads of people submitted maps when the call went out umpteen years ago, but when Estarra saw the quality of Caffrey's/Exarius' she had Caff update his world map periodically and Exarius do all the singular areas himself. He got so many creds from it.

Does the amount of lessons in tailoring affect how fast things decay or is it static? And does arts affect it because I can't see that in the skill diagram.

1. Should I be getting two pairs of nekai for combat/bashing?
2. What should the stats be on them?
3. If I don't need two pairs, is this sufficient: Damage: 105 Precision: 110 Speed: 120 ?

Those stats looked weird until I realized you must be illithoid. Dump 5 prec for more speed. They will work well for both bashing and combat.

Hey guys,
So I've played a couple IRE games before (including Lusternia) and I'm looking to get back into it. I had a couple of questions as I do so though.
In the past I've never bought credits, and it always seemed like I at a significant disadvantage. Can you actually make it in this game without buying credits? what proportion of lvl 75+ players get there without buying any credits from the website?
Also, how feasible is it to build your own system? Am I basically going to be forced to buy a system or is there another option? On a related note, should I be using a particular client?
Finally, I'm interested taking a knight class. Is training knighthood going to help me the most for hunting denizens? Or should I focus on something else too? Does the human experience bonus help growing levels significantly, or should I go with something more specialized to my race?
Thanks!

You'll be at a disadvantage, but it's possible to get credits in-game via the credit market (buying for gold), bardic/artisanal contests, and as payment for miscellaneous things (e.g. some orgs have culture contests or kickbacks for dedicated citizens).

Well, that depends entirely on your coding skills. Lusternian combat is significantly more difficult than Achaean/Aetolian (dunno about Imperian). Any client other than Nexus (uuugh, Java) should do adequately. Mudlet seems pretty popular atm.

Yeah, Knighthood and the appropriate specialization thereof (Pureblade/Axelord/Blademaster/Bonecrusher) is the primary skill that will aid you in hunting. Be warned that if you won't buy credits, you're at a disadvantage as a knight, since they're regarded as one of the more credit-intensive classes (you pretty much require weapon runes to get into combat). The human experience bonus is significant, and evolution makes them very versatile, but personally I'd go for somethin' like krokani or orclach. Entirely up to you, though.

I didn't buy credits on my main for ages, and managed to trans skills through other methods of getting credits (facebook rewards, events, etc)
As for clients and systems - AG for MUSHclient or m&m for Mudlet seem to be the two publicly available. There are older systems floating around but they're really outdated. You can build your own system, but I know it takes months to stamp out the bugs.
Knights do make good hunters. I've got an orclach warrior that does very well with the tankiness. I know aslaran and faeling make nice knights too for the balance bonus.

I got to 80+ before buying credits. And there's always those facebook credits...if you're really, really patient.
Edit for disclaimer: I'm a non-com hunter/influencer

In other words, here are just a few of the best ways to turn your brain into goo:
1. Buy credits from the credit market with gold.
2. Build your own combat system.
3. Play as a warrior.
(I've only done two out of the three myself, but I have other sources of credits.)
