I just want to shield rune a shield.

TrueShield

While any dunce can hold a shield and protect an arm, by practice and training you are able to position your shield by second nature, allowing further protection to your arm wielding the shield as well as your head, chest and gut. Note that while it is physically possible to wield two shields, doing so is so cumbersome that you will lose all benefit from both shields.

Which levels do humans get stat increases on? I was told it was every 5 after 50 but that doesn't seem right, so I'm asking here!
Ilyarin2011-08-06 17:32:05
^ That is correct.
Unknown2011-08-06 17:36:22
Then, at level 85 I should have 7 extra stats?
Ilyarin2011-08-06 17:41:07
8, I think. The first one should come at level 50.
Unknown2011-08-06 17:45:34
Okay, because here's what my undeffed stats are at at level 85:

CODE
Shifting Current Tempeste Gordian --------------------------------------
Strength     : 13   Dexterity : 13  Constitution : 13
Intelligence : 14   Size      : 12  Charisma     : 13  Timeout : 5 min

Which I am pretty sure adds up to 6. Do I get stat penalties from something else? There is one domoth blessing on me (lesser harmony) and no karma curses.

Human stats got nerfed a bit with the last racial change batch. It bounces between every 7 and 8 levels now, iirc.
Ilyarin2011-08-06 17:58:39
Oh. My bad! Sorry. sad.gif
Unknown2011-08-06 17:59:17
That explains things, thanks!

With how easy it is to attain demigod, I personally feel that human stat gains, regardless of frequency is a pretty moot point to have to address.

Well this is the Simple Questions thread, it's not like there was some huge argument over it. confused.gif

Can you attach a Shielding Rune to transmology gauntlets? Also, somewhat related, do Enchantment pentangles, etc. have any effect on anything when sketched on gauntlets? If so, what?
Unknown2011-08-08 20:44:45
Yes to both.

I want to hold an offering contest. Would prizes of 50 credits to first, 40 for second, 30 for third, 20 for fourth and 10 for fifth be decent? Is that too cheap? Too much? Should there be a milestone prize? If so, what milestone and what should the prize be.

This is mostly coming out of my pocket (except 50 were donated by the best person to play this game (besides me)), so I don't want the prizes to be too high.

Any suggestions?
Ytran2011-08-08 23:19:04
Those seem pretty high to me, though I guess it also depends on the scope/size of the contest and such.

Also I still don't really have a good handle on what stuff is worth here, so I could just be crazy.

That sounds excessive to me. I'm not an authority on the subject by any means, but I feel like anyone should be happy with 10-20 credits as a (first place) prize for something they're probably doing already anyway. Maybe I'm cheap.

It could be because Hallifax isn't a very offering oriented city, or because everyone hates Elostian, but when I hosted an offering contest for the city the essence totals were nowhere near worth that many credits to offer up out of your own pocket. Just my experience, but I think that's a lot.
