How come dirigibles can't hold gold, but they can hold thousands upon thousands of comms?
Estarra explained this to me when I commissioned the delivery system for Giallyn that eventually became dirigibles: gold isn't stored the same way other stuff is, it's not an "object", which is why it shows up differently in your inventory. So denizens also handle it differently.

It's a ploy to get everyone to buy the mint.

They'll be accepted two days after the last time you ask.
Actually, it's just like any other design. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to several months, depending on what the reviewers perceive as errors, and what things get flagged, and whether you allow mortal reviewers, and whether Mars is approaching is perihelion, and so on.

Oh.. I didn't know you could change the kind of reviewers. I just found it weird that all my other designs are getting accepted, but the robes are still.. just there.

You can flag it "nomortalreview" or some such, but then it's just the Fates taking care of it. I never do any designing myself, but from what I've heard they generally take longer than mortal reviewers.

Ahh, right. Thanks for the info!

Question.
So there's a fancy switch-back-to-other-family-name thing that costs 10k, yes? Can that only be done once for a couple, or can you do it more than once, how does it work.

I just carry a letter for when I need to deliver gold.

It has come to my attention that some people have a hard time figuring out how to pronounce my name.
Upon starting at NAMEGEN LUCIDIAN for however long, I picked Aicuthi(Ai-su-thi) and thought that sounded nice and legible. Atleast in comparison to the other jumbled and indecipherable ones, but apparently not. People tell me they think its Ai-kuh-thee or Ai-koo-thi. So my question is, what do you think it should be?

I thought it was Ai-koo-thi.
You don't see many -cu- that have the soft 'see' sound as opposed to 'cut' sound.

I'll just go by that then, it seems the easiest anyways. I am frustrated at myself for letting such a travesty occur. Whenever I see a name I can't read in my head it kind of annoys the heck out of me. Thank you.

A haunting, harmonious note washes over you, clear as the sky and empty as the Void, filling you with an awe-struck sense of horror. The boundless beauty of the note is matched only by its promise of endless despair - the beauty of a heart as still as the grave and twice as cold.

I don't actually even bother to think about how some names are pronounced, but that one I'd go with Aye-koo-thee for.
(I feel sure everyone's getting my alt's name's pronunciation 100% wrong, because they don't know where it comes from, come to think of it. In English, the pronunciation is wholly unrelated to the spelling.)
Llesvelt2010-08-07 14:03:53
I just pronounce it Aikufi.

Don't feel too bad - most people can't pronounce my character's name either. Some people consistently typo it!
(It's ee-feh or ee-fah, not A-oyf)
Shiri2010-08-07 14:41:28
I had to default to "owie-fey." Most people get my names wrong too, but I can't really complain since I picked syllables we don't really have letters for.
Unknown2010-08-07 14:51:54
I've been doing Aoife right because it's an actual name that I've encountered before in my life. I win! Haha.
